I just soiled myself. Was so scared they were going to do a present day setting. Fantastic screens, dripping with atmosphere, just like the first one.

The original had some truly epic moments IMO.

Running from the cops on rooftops after blowing up somones office, ending up at a church tower under renovation, sprint down to ground level and accidentially show up in the funeral of a guy you killed in an earlier mission :D

So when is this one set?

In one of the screen shots you can see an MG42, MP40 and "Grease Gun" which were all WW2 weapons. I thought the whole gangster thing was 1920s-30s?

Well the last one spanned 1930-38. The new one is supposed to be in the 50s but maybe it starts earlier... Might even tie into the erm... epilogue of the first game.

Quite nicely done I thought (loss of sandbox was compensated for by rewards for sticking more or less to the scripted plot). Would be nice to see whether they continue to base it in Lost Heaven or not, and if so whether they've taken the GTA4 "redux" approach or the SR2 "evolution" approach to updating the city...
