LOTRO: Moria updated to Book 7 News

Codemasters and Turbine have confirmed that their Lord of the Rings Online MMO is about to receive the first major update since last year's Mines of Moria expansion, in the form of Book 7: Leaves of Lorien.
The update goes live on Turbine's US servers today. Codemasters will bring it to European servers "shortly after this date". On previous form, you shouldn't have to wait too long.
As we reported recently, the update adds Lothlorien, a faction-controlled zone where players will have to earn the right to hang out with Galadriel and the Fellowship.
There's also a 12-player raid deep in the Mines, the Spring Festival live event, new daily quests with associated instances for crafters, revamped "new player experience" early-level questing for Dwarves, Elves and Man, and a new Quest Guide with map support.
Lord of the Rings Online celebrates its second anniversary next month, so watch out for more developments soon.

A lot of the US-type people are complaining that there's not actually much to do in the new update... :(

Yeah, I think people are complaining about some of the "fixes" too, particularly in relation to the DPS levels now.
And people say Lorien is "boring" because the quests are focused on colleting/delivering rather than combat (as the forest is bad-guy free...) Oh well. It'll be interesting to see what's coming up. |

Are they the new hobbits ;-). They got a lot of those quest as well. I'm quiet curious at how they lowered the mobs difficulty. Was quiet a pain to get something down with my minstrel. What I read on the forum is that there burst damage is quiet high now. |

I think people have just become a bit combat-focused after Moria. After all, the Mines were a very intense, dangerous place, so most quests (and even just travel) would involve a lot of fighting.
I'm looking forward to seeing it all. I think the servers came down this morning for the Spring Festival update, so we'll see how that works out. MOAR DANSING! |

Oh and the LOTRO official forums have confirmed the Euro servers will get this update next Tuesday.
