I wouldn't say it was a lazy attempt at a cash-in, it was just a terrible concept from the off, badly executed.

I wouldn't say it was a terrible concept (LOTR in a battlefront game sounded wicked at first!) but it was very badly executed. If it ever managed to get a sequel (this is EA) I may look at a demo as the first had potential.

Sadly though this laid down it's life for L4D and I've not looked back since, also I'm kind of glad Pandemic aren't involved with BF3 now TBH.....

Nothing can really save this game from its sheer awfulness.

Sorry, when I said bad concept, I just never felt the close-range stuff in Battlefront II worked well, so wouldn't really gel in a full game. I was partially completely wrong, but it's not a great game. I still want it though.

Battlefront III is also higher on my list of must-haves!

Yeah I see what you mean, the heroes close quarter stuff was poo in BF2, but I thought with some work it would of worked well. Controls are workable though, but no lock on meant combat was farcical and random most of the time.

For me though the biggest flaw was having just 16 players in "epic" battle. If they could not do it properly they really shouldn't have bothered.

It better be, BF rocks! :)
