Lost Odyssey to become a series?
Microsoft Japan suggests so.
Microsoft could be planning to expand role-playing game Lost Odyssey into a series.
Word comes by way of the Japanese head of Xbox 360, who told regional media giant Nikkei (spotted by All RPG) that "the series" will continue grow as time went on.
He believes this will more than make up for rather disappointing sales of the title so far - the current figure stands at 100,000.
Lost Odyssey was created by Mistwalker, the Japanese studio established by Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi. Mistwalker was also responsible for Blue Dragon.
While it would make sense for Microsoft to build its own role-playing series - particularly to bolster sales in Japan - it's worth remembering things can get lost in translation.
Microsoft UK was unavailable for clarification, although our amazing crystal ball tells us to expect "no comment on rumour or speculation".
Lost Odyssey is due out this Friday in Europe and has already received a warm reception from Eurogamer.

In any case if it does become a series i suspect it'll be like the Final Fantasy franchise with each installment totally unrelated to the last.

I'm boycotting all Sony products because I'm sick of the way they treat us as third class citizens despite us making the Playstation brand a huge success over here, yet you don't see me posting in every single fucking Sony article pissing and moaning about it.
So why don't you do yourself, and us, a favour, and leave us to enjoy reading about the games we love, without all your off-topic stupid console hating bollocks?

I actually bought a PS3 this week, for the Blu-ray mostly, and hedging my bets if it ever gets a bunch of good, exclusive games to play on it.
After playing the demos of Heavenly Sword, and Uncharted, and so forth and so on, I was expecting to head out tomorrow and buy the full games, as the usual effect of getting to see impressive, well programmed stuff is that you want some more, and there's this build-up.
But rather, I am foregoing the talented, but strangely un-charismatic lure of both the maiden of the red locks with one Cell cycle allotted to them, and the Drake of the bad high hair, and instead I am going out to buy me some old-fashioned JRPG by the name of Lost Odyssey, for my old trusty junk-bucket 360.
Which so far, has not had one hitch, in 2 years.
GREAT Blu-ray though. *Clears throat*

I won't be buying any Sony electronic products like Mp3 players, TV's, phones, etc, no. And no, definitely not a PS3. I'm deadly serious.
It's not about any percieved quality of games or the quality of their products, it's about their treatment of us over the whole PS3 saga. But my point is that you don't see me going into PS3 forums, or PS3 related articles trolling about the lack of games or the quality of ports (stupid anyway, as both have valid reasons far outreaching the console itself). So it annoys me that people come into totally unrelated articles like this, just because it's 360 related, and lay into MS or the 360. Fair enough, you don't like MS or console, I couldn't give a shit. But why keep posting about it?
