Lost and Damned breaks Live records

It's the fastest-selling DLC ever.

Microsoft has announced the shocking news that the first batch of DLC for Grand Theft Auto IV is massively popular..

Not only is The Lost and Damned "the highest reviewed downloadable content ever", according to a press release, it also "eclipsed first-day revenue for all previous downloadable content on Xbox Live".

There's no word on just how much revenue that amounts to, or how many times The Lost and Damned has been downloaded. Still, it's good to know they've sold an undisclosed number of units greater than all the other undisclosed numbers of units.

The Lost and the Damned is available from Xbox Live now, priced at 1600 Microsoft Points (GBP 13.60 / EUR 19.20). To find out why it's worth the money, read our review.

And so it should. IMHO an excellent example of what a DLC expansion should be. I know it was half the price but it does make Knothole Island look pretty pathetic. Fable 2 - top notch though.

Anybody who liked GTA4 should get this, just superb.

"eclipsed first-day revenue for all previous downloadable content on Xbox Live"

Wonder why, 1600 price point maybe.....

Well being the GTA whore I am I cracked on the day despite my disgust at the price, before people jump on me it's no deal, you get a 3rd of a game and you pay a 3rd of RETAIL price.

Not got far but it's good fun. Story seem good and the missions (well the same but on a bike so far but if you like GTA no bad thing really). Only tried that Chopper vs Chopper online and that is great fun (but the gunship is a bitch to control).

Good purchase, but REALLY not happy about MS and their new pricing, if only I didn't love GTA so :(

Imagine making a game, then picking out a big part of it. Then sell it. Sell millions!! And then you sell the part you had picked out. Even more millions!!

Damn, that's an easy and clever way to make money!!

True! Actually some of TLAD is....

...the same game when Nico pop in!

They've spent the best part of a year working on this expansion. It was never just part of the original game.
  • miiiguel #7 3 years ago

That claim is sily, you couldn't play with Niko and Johny in the same game.

    Mortzan didn't play/see TLAD, I guess.

Blackadder : So what you're telling me Percy is that something you have never seen is slightly more blue than something else you have never seen.

    Percy : Yes M'lord.

I love it - 1600 MS points is way too cheap for this. Should have been 2400 imo. I mean it is many hours of very high quality entertainment.

It's good content, about the right price I guess. I haven't gotten my moneys worth from it yet as there is a lot of stuff I am playing catch up with, but it seems from brief play to deserve it. Characters suck a bit though.

Too cheap. What a fanboy dickhead you are. MS could sell you a sack of shit, and you would gladly make a sandwich out of it :D.

Very well done but is it enough considering what MS had to pay to get this exclusive?

Awesome DLC, couldn't be more happy. Pricey but good fun.

Wonder how much they plan to charge on PC.

Apparently some L&D content was in the PC files and some have modded it to be usable. (Nothing like the script, just assets)
