Lord of Ultima enters open beta
Browser-based, city-building strategy.
EA has pushed Lord of Ultima into open beta. The latest in the long-running Ultima series of fantasy games, originally created by Richard "Lord British" Garriott at the dawn of computer gaming, is a browser-based, free-to-play multiplayer strategy game by BattleForge creators Phenomic.
You can create an account and start playing at the Lord of Ultima website. Expect a 2D strategy game based around building cities and an economy, and warring with "thousands" of other players.
It's a free game supported by micro-transactions, with in-game bonuses available to purchase for real money.

This seems to play the exact same way. Just got the franchise name.

It would be a pretty standard web MMO but the quests thing is new. EA polish is also nice compared to the more 'amateur' feel of things like islandor or cybernations. Playing through the tutorial, its a bit too complex for a web game for my tastes and also looks very time consuming. The issue being you'd need to log in every hour or so to keep on top of it all.
Very graphics heavy means my phone may not enjoy it, and work of course ban such things.
