The artist that created sackboy is a genius (or at least very good in his work).

Or just have both? Different strokes and all that.
  • MatteG #4 3 years ago

So will these be in the Retail disc or will I have to preorder from somewhere?
  • Triggerhappytel #5 3 years ago

    These are almost immeasurably awesome.

Next up, Rau and Gabe Logan would be good.
  • Ninja_Tino #6 3 years ago

    Haha they are fantastic.

":What are Sony doing wasting time and money on those bland Home avatars and stuff, when a LBP and Sackboy version would have been infinitely more eyecatching. Wasted opportunity IMO"

Great idea, I completely agree. Maybe it will happen one day? Suppose we need Home to actually happen first.

    Paid downloadable content.

It's mentioned as a pack, so I hope it comes with a LBP level from Square and Konami themselves or the DLC is really really really cheap.

Every time i see something to do with LBP it is awesome.

I got a beta key last night... But it was region locked :( Wah! Oh well, only two weeks to go! In the meantime, doesn't Linger In Shadows come out tonight? I'm very curious about that.
  • myiagros #11 3 years ago

Those are amazing. Hopefully they are part of larger packs. I would love to see an MGS4 Raiden sackboy as well as FFVII Cloud.

As for sackboys instead of home avatas, that would have been an excellent idea, i will never be able to look at HOME the same way again.
  • nickthegun #12 3 years ago

It was never going to be long before those Slash fictioners created a Sephiroth.
  • HarryPalmer #13 3 years ago

    Need a sackerized Spiderman.
  • penhalion #14 3 years ago

Er given how generic sackboy is. Wouldn't using him as an avatar result in 10,000 solid snakes, 10,000 sepiroths etc. etc. Now thst would quickly start to grate on peoples nerves don't you think.

Edit: As for the person who thought sackboy was some genius idea. Not really, as there have been money dolls around for ages. These dolls were always user paintable so that you could create anything you wanted from them. There was evena famous case where Epic threatened to sue some poor guy because he created a fantastic (better than epics own doll efforts) Marcus Fenix Money doll and showed off some pictures of it.

I wasn't talking about the fact that you can dress him up anyway you like, it's the design of the character itself, the basic, non-dressed sackbox, that's very, very good.

The Opel (Vauxhall ?) TV ad uses "sackboys" for ages.

    Lol that's awesome.

I'm half considering a PS3 just for this game, seems like a hell of a lot of money just for one game though.

Let me play Devil's Advocate for one second, but isn't it slightly desperate that the game is trying to gain glory from other established franchises by making Solid Snake/Kratos/Seripoth/that bird from Heavenly Sword Sackboys? It's like Soul Calibur 4's inclusion of Darth Vader and Yoda to try and entice the Stars Wars market.

    @kinky_mong

I think you're missing the point...

    THIER SOOOOOOOO CUUUUUUUUUUUUTE!

Like stapling a Link hat to a kitten...

Erm, plus Darth Vader in SCIV aint teh cute.
  • KreyAtiv #23 3 years ago

They are quite good. :) Definitely looking forward to what else they come up with.
Perhaps a Chuck Norris one, that'd be great in his Walker Texas Ranger guise or from one of his action films.
  • BobsUncle #24 3 years ago

I want a Master Chief one. But that might break the Playstation.
  • Zebula77 #25 3 years ago

Heh, it might look and play a bit like a kiddie game, but when you start diving into the create mode and discover how incredibly vast and full of potential it is (and the wonderful user-created levels that are already cropping up is proof of that) you won't think it's 'kiddie' anymore.

Besides, the 2D platforming thing is pretty much what we grew up with (I'm talking about us non-kids) and to be able to recreate some of our favourite levels or just do something completely new is a wonderful opportunity just wating to happen.
Can't wait to play the full version.
  • Simian #26 3 years ago

Nice, but they reek gimmick. Septhroth and Snake will clearly draw in fanboys that might have had no interest in this before.

+1 for Chuck Norris sackboy :D

SO....more people in a community like this is always good, even if they have slightly narrow views they may still make some awesome levels, even some cameo metal gear solid or final fantasy would be good, because at the end of the day, more levels means more levels, good or bad, new levels (even bad ones) can give you new ideas.

And anyway, anyone who's played the beta probably already noticed that there is a rrod level, so its hardly free of fanboys.
