@KIlla: it is actually possible to own this and own a 360 you know.

The joys of being multi platform. I get to enjoy this and the great xbox and wii games, whilst the fanboys snipe at each other. Happy days.

@big_merk: This and Banjo both look great to me and very different. Who chose? I can enjoy both. That's great.

I don't think it is niche. It's one of those games that everyone in my house likes the look of and we tend to like different things.

Liking the look of something and being able to play it for more than 5 minuites before becoming comatose are 2 separate things.

Personally I love the art direction. LBP is a very charming looking game.

Playability though? I feel I've played it as much as I can stomach and so far all I've done is watch the videos. The complete absense of any kind of structure or objectives kinda puts a damp squib on the whole concept.

Use of the word Xbot is the most pathetic groan-worthy gaff a retard can make on the internet I'm afraid.

Grow. The. Fuck. Up.

Objective wise you've got collection of stuff - from the basics of "coins" to getting outfit additions and level creation basics - you've also got time trials for level completion with ranking. On top of that there are the incentives of what you get for completion. I.e. New pre-made objects and stuff to use in your own levels. Think of the objective as collecting stuff to use in your own levels and the completion of the levels themselves.

What more objectives do you need in a platformer like this? What objectives do you have in Mario or Rayman? It's about the whys, wheres and how tos of playing the game and then creating levels if you want to. If the playing of the game is going to float your boat and you get rewards and variety in that then it's going to be fun no?

Like I said, seen the videos, had my fill.

I would get nothing from playing it, simply bumbling from A to B and picking up a few items would not hold my interest. I played that kind of game to death on the Spectrum/Amiga and am looking for more involved gaming now.

For those content with platforming, all power to ya. Hope you enjoy.

@farticus - I'm sure you don't mind the terms Wiitard and SDF though, those are fair game right?

A lot of the gaming community need to grow up, not just Sony fanboys who like to say Xbot.

No, both are equally as stupid as Xbot. They dont actually describe anything about the person. There is usually a reason people dont like a platform/manufacturer, not some vague hatred for something with no discernable cause.

In fact, in a lot of cases a 'fanboy' is actually not a fanboy of the platform in question, they just dislike the other platforms.

It's all about how you bumble. Lots of games can be broken down to bumbling from A to B. True there is a lot of traditional plaforming in here, but there is enough interesting stuff shown for me, and on the plus side at least I'm not forced to be a character I'd like to punch repeatedly in the face (*cough* MARIO *cough*).

I was going to say Spectrum/Amiga was a bit harsh, but then I remembered Super Frog. Damn that was a great game.

"Ah, a little something for everyone, in the world of PlayStation.
Cool arcade stuff (Riff and SSHD), fun family stuff (Buzz and Singstar), a whole lot of tripple A hardcore gamer stuff (MGS4, COD4, Burnout Paradise, Uncharted, Resistance...) and some unique pieces of software like LBP, LocoRoco, Pixeljunk Eden, Home...)
Not to mention blu-ray, a cheap upgradeable HDD, easy Music storage, DVD upscaling, cool photo viewer, free online and a massive entertainment download store coming.

Okay, I'm on a runners high at the moment, but really, not too bad innit?"

Who are you trying to convince?
