Lionhead confirms Fable II DLC delay
Following Xbox.com report. Late Jan now.
Lionhead has confirmed to Eurogamer that the Fable II: Knothole Island downloadable expansion pack has been delayed until January 2009.
An announcement on Xbox.com yesterday said the pack had been pushed back from 22nd December until "late January", which the developer confirmed this morning.
Xbox.com cited "unexpected technical difficulties".
Knothole Island, which will cost 800 Microsoft Points (GBP 6.80 / EUR 9.60), introduces a new area full of quests and other bonuses off-shore.
Fable II, which came out in late October, is one of our favourite games of the year, as you probably established with our Fable II review.

Still better to delay and iron out the bugs than release something in a shoddy state. Should do that more often.

I have to say I have been surprised at how much I have enjoyed Fable 2. I expected it to be pretty good, but on relflection I think its great. A few rough edges in places, but hey what can you do.

It's a bloody piss-take after the fiasco of the LE copy (OK, the white hobbe looked shit, but I still wanted it). Freakin' game has had more bad luck attached to it than even Jesus had!

Indeed, the DLC will keep.
The bugs, however, are an incredible annoyance for those suffering them (thinking about it a little more, I've had the furniture and unresponsive child bugs but as the child is obviously not mine I wasn't that pushed, I'm sure his real father will take care of him
That said, I wouldn't hold my breath for it.

that doesn't make any sense. you're basically saying that there should be no dlc for story-based games because if there is, the people that wait for it get a better first playthrough?

Still, not to mind, lots of other games out there. Kind unfortunate for them though, ( Lionhead ) talk about missing the ideal spot for a release date.
Next time I see Fable will likely be when Fable 3 gets released now.

Fable 2 was supposed to be my answer to my otherwise boring real-life. Instead; compared to Fable 1, it felt as though a cack-handed moron created it. So... in response: It's bloody important to me! Although you've got a level-head about this situation, I haven't and now I'm annoyed with myself and Lionhead/Microsoft.
N.B: I loved the other Lionhead games out there, but this was shoddy and should've been 'held-off' for another year imo. Now my memory of the Fable franchise is tainted
Still looking forward to their secret game.
and again: It's bloody important to me, I don't give two shits about others, it's all about me, me, me!
