Limited edition Medal of Honor coming
Get early access to special stuff, for free.
Electronic Arts has announced a limited edition version of Medal of Honor, the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 game due out this October.
Pre-order the game via the MOH website and you'll get an exclusive weapon, the MP7. You'll also be able to access the TOZ-194 and 870MC2 shotguns from day one, without having to unlock them. And all this for the same price as the regular edition.
"Access to a weapon like the MP7 will allow players to experience a tool developed with the Special Operations Community in mind," said exec producer Greg Goodrich.
"With its light weight, high rate of fire and its ability to penetrate body armor, the MP7 handles like a pistol yet allows targets to be engaged like a rifle."
Medal of Honor is out on 15th October. For all the business, including previews, videos and screenshots, visit the gamepage.

A big part of the appeal of shooters is they allow gamers to pretend to shoot things just like they did as kids in the playground. When devs start saying it's like the real thing, it gets creepy.
Firing an MP5 for real is a lot scarier than pretending to do it in a game believe me.

For some, maybe. But the target audience for modern war FPS love this stuff.

EA's always terrible with stuff like this. At one point they did mention that they'd roll out something similar to the BC2 VIP membership for Medal of Honor. Which in my experience means you'll only get access to 60% of the game's maps on launch, with the rest slowly being trickled out under the guise of being free maps.
Oh well, I'm not buying this game anyway. The beta shows the multiplayer to be a an utterly bland mix of BC2 and MW2 that's worse than both of them. The singleplayer could redeem it though I guess.

Well it is limited in some capacity. After a week or so you'll start seeing boxarts without the "Limited Edition" printed on them. With BC2 I think they actually made too few of them. Pre-ordered and picked my copy up two days after release and I didn't get the LE. Not that it mattered in the slightest, additional text on the boxart was the only difference really. With this game you'd miss out on a weapon though.
