Life after Kingdom Hearts

Nomura talks about new series.

Tetsuya Nomura insists his next game won't be Kingdom Hearts III, but a whole new series.

However, the new title is expected to share similarities with the outrageously popular JRPG-meets-Disney series, though the decorated producer was shy on exactly how it would.

"First, it's not Kingdom Hearts III," Nomura told Dengeki PlayStation. "Of course, because we're calling it a 'new' series, it won't be KHIII. Also, it's a series, so it probably won't be just one title."

His comments follow news from late last year that saw him warn gamers to expect announcements on multiple Kingdom Hearts-related products in 2007. While there's still no word on exactly what this new series will be, it looks certain to be the next-generation offering we were after.

Square Enix is expected to make a full announcement sometime this year, and was unavailable for comment at the time of writing.

    disc that's the common misconception when they see the word Disney in KH.

    Even I dismissed KH when I first saw it.

    Saying that while KH was amazing with minor dated things that pissed me of mainly rotating the camera using R2 and L2 it's way better than KH2 which descended into a piss easy button masher game a bit like the jump from DMC 1 to DMC 2.

    Just make KHIII, please!

    I have no idea what this 'new' series could be. Also, he was talking to Dengeki PlayStation, so isn't safe to assume this new series will be on a PlayStation platform?

    Whoa, Steroyd! KHII was nothing like DMC2, in that it improved upon the original KH. KH isn't childish really at all - some moments here and there, perhaps, but for the most part the game is quike dark. Particularly KHII.

    If it's not KH, then there's a greater possibility of it not being on a PS system.

    Just sayin... Though a PS3 version would be awesome imo.

    Kingdom Hearts II...dark? At what point? It was, however, most disappointing after fighting and beating Sephiroth only to see him and Cloud f*cking vanish. And the cherry on top was Sora's and Tifa's comments. Do you recall what they said..? Just. Brilliant. Work. Anyhow, to each his/her own, I guess. O.O But, I absolutely dislike the button mashing, small, linear levels, inability to switch characters *permanently*, and Final Form.

    It won't be KH3 because it will be a prequel to KH, as the new "secret FMV" in KH2:Final Mix shows.

    I canīt wait to play the Kingdom Hearts - Chain of Memories PS2 remake! Maybe then KH2 will make more sense since I never played that on the GBA.

    I thought his next game was Final Fantasy XIII Versus?
