You literally didn't even read the interview did you? I'm not a big MGS fan and i own a 360 and not a PS3 but my God grow up, you are in absolutely no position to call someone else a fanboy or a troll.

I don't own a PS3 (yet!) but I'm sooner or later going to buy one and one of the reasons is going to be this game. I've always liked the atmosphere of the MGS series, the hi-tech feel to it, the FAMAS and the weaponry, the suits, the music, the design... besides game play and many other aspects of these productions. Not a big fan of the exhausting cut sequences and the sometimes pathetic sentimentality but besides that love the rest.
The PSX version remains among my all time favourite games so I can say that I admire Kojima's work.
Calling this man a fanboy or a troll is simply stupid and deserves to be ignored.

Referring to the quote above about "exhaustive cutscenes" then you may need to be warned that MGS4 has a couple weighing in around the 90 minute mark as well as some other fairly long, but shorter ones.......

It is a masterpiece but it is certainly not for everyone. MGSO is a fun addition too which would probably be better integrated/supported on XBL.

Shame on you all for hating on Kojima, he is a legend and an innovator and should therefore be cherished.

Without wanting to state the obvious but if he had decided to go multi-platform that day would be now wouldn't it, so it is his own fault.

I don't mean any disrespect to the 360, but with a DVD drive and a multi-million dollar fee for a third disc people should really stop asking Kojima about a 360 version. While the PS3 may not have a programmer friendly architecture, Kojima's team showed that if you embrace it, rather than bitch about it, you can make the best looking game this gen, and in 1080p. As for a 360 version, how do you get past the DVD and HDD restrictions?

@CunningLinguist - so how did the devs who have 3-disc games on 360 manage it? The fees cant be that much to them, so why is it to Konami? Also, MGS4 is not the best looking game this gen. I really do not see how anyone can argue that - IN GAME - MGS4 looks better than Gears of War - it just doesn't. And it definitely doesnt look better than GoW2.

Have any of you people that bought into the cell hype never wondered why it's only Sony (and their 2nd party studios - insomniac etc) that keep telling you the PS3 is more powerful - whilst 3rd party devs keep saying the only technical difference is that the 360 is easier to develop for? Funny, isnt it?

I think the truly great game auters are realising that they do genuinely have lots of people missing their lifes hard work because they make the choice to go exclusive..it's a shame really i think deep down Kojima would like 1 platform to rule (no guesses which i spose) and that's why not everyone can agree on how good a game he's made (it's very, very good)

A certain amount of people will not warm to Dead Rising, however good, a certain amount won't warm to MGS4, neither ends up getting the kudos or number of people playing that they might deserve to, step in Call Of Duty for some duck hunt madness and all over love (not as good as either)

take GTA or Half Life 2, which port is better aside everyone can see HL2 is maybe the best game on the planet, and single platform devs just loose out, more cash in the pocket to start with less fans at the finish...Go Valve!

Because they are not a fanboy?! Sorry mate, hate the burst your bubble but there is no such thing as texture pop-in in MGS4. That alone puts it miles ahead. Also check out Uncharted or Ratchet and Clank. Gears of War is pretty much a terrible looking mess of glean and shine put on to horrible samey colours. And dont get me started on the gameplay. Press A! PRESS A AGAIN! QUICK PRESS RIGHT TRIGGER! NOW PRESS A AGAIN! Its a good fun, dumb ride but its good for one playthrough only.

What about ZOE 3 Kojima? It could be spectacular on next-gen. Also to be honest I hope Kojima doesn't work on any more Metal Gear titles, I loved the games but I'd like to see him trying something new as I think he wishes too.

Firstly, Kojima does not make the business decisions anymore and is back in a developing role. If you've actually played the game, you'll realise that he's quite loyal to his fanbase. So if people like Gabe Newell can make derogatory comments about the PS3, everyone hails him for being outspoken. If Kojima supports the PS3, it's fanboyism.

Well as far as I know -from playing the game, the cutscenes are rendered with the ingame engine. Thus when a cutscene is over you just get your HUD up and you play. Obviously some details are only visible when you zoom in on something, which is used more in the cutscenes for obvious reasons. As for 3rd party devs, what do you want them to say? Who here would not take the easy way out? Sony dropped the ball on the architecture, that is a well known fact. All the more kudos to Konami for pulling this game off. As for best looking game out there on a console, it is very subjective. I've seen reviews such as the giantbomb.com one where they state it is probably the best looking game out there. And of course I use my eyes. Nothing against the 360, I think it's a great console and it has loads of good games. Just that for my money the PS3's 1st/2nd/3rd party exclusives look better than 360 exclusives. Halo 3 looks abysmal imo, PGR is average at best. Compare those games to Uncharted or Motorstorm and hopefully you'll see what I mean.

What a pity it wasn't a joke, the brilliant irony of some game website forum poster calling the one of the most respected developers in the world an Xbox troll (not even an Xbox 360 troll!). And all because he's upset he can't get his game on the console he is a big fanboy of. Not upset? Then why feel the need to post what you've said? I'd love to believe you were making a clever dig at fanboys but your other comments just don't bare that out.

On the subject of the interview, did the interviewer have to skip a couple of questions down the page when he mentioned he was sick of being asked about console exclusives? ;)

I think people get so angry over exclusives when they're younger and they want things "now, now, now!". Older gamers realise that eventually all consoles become very cheap and that it will be possible to play every game in time.

Saying that 360 owners are below the poverty line shows how much of a retard you really are. I personally take home £35k a year in my job and my missus £27k, I have a R34 Skyline GTR and she has an Audi TT Quattro, I have a 50" Plasma telly.....i could go on and on. By the way, I own a 360.

I currently also have a Wii, a DS and a PSP. I will not buy into the PS3 hype because its overrated and a couple of decent exclusive games dont warrant the price tag.

I bought a PS3 mainly for MGS4 and the nifty BR player. I still consider it to be a rather hefty investment. Worth it, mind you, but I'm an MGS fan since MSX.
Would I have bought one if MGS4 was multiplatform? Probably. Really interested in Heavy Rain (and to a lesser extent, LBP).

Personal choice and all that.

Yep same here - I have to say I use the PS3 for Bluray and watching stuff in general simply cos its quieter. Loved MGS4 and am looking fwd to LBP too also love Siren. I do feel, as you say, its a pretty hefty investment just cos I wanted MGS but at the same time I dont regret it. Im playing 360 more tbh purely 'cos the online is better and thats what most of my mates play (some of which hv PS3 too).

MGS4 - best looking game out there? Hmmm it does look gorgeous but I dont know that its not doable on 360 grapichally speaking. I think its gonna be really interesting to Bioshock running side by side. For me that is one of the best lookers this gen. No doubt others will disagree but thats up to them.

To the certain members critisising Kojima sans talents - get a fucking clue. It may not be for everyone (just like FF) and thats fine but dont question its greatness. Theres loads of genres that arent my bag but I still appreciate them as being great in their own right if the credits due.

Just like the GDC presentation of Nobi-Nobi boy by Takeshi (spelling?) of Katamari fame. The first question he gets asked after a talk on his game design philosophy is "Will the game be coming to 360?" F.F.S.

MGS4 is a great game, yes, it's a Ps3 exclusive, just as Gears is an Xbox360 exclusive, now, should epic fire the producer, or stop creating that game exclusvly for the xBox just because it would seel more if released for the Ps3 as well??? stop talking shit please... in a way we all love exclusives, but get angry every time an outstanding game is released for other system, it will allways be like that so get over it and just enjoy what your system offers instead of talking shit.

Oh and by the way i happen to be a very lucky guy because i have the rig to play Crysis as it's meant to be played (1900x1200, all options very high), and i must say that it's by far the best looking game in the market "by an enormous margin"... only Killzone 2 (from what i saw) can give the same cinematic sensation.... just for the record, the system is (2 ATI 4870 in crossfire, board RAMPAGE, quad core processor 2.88 GHZ, HP monitor 24, 4GB memory 1066 in dual channel, and 2 dics of 500GB each in raid).
