Kojima working on several new games

And one of them will be out this year.

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has said he's working on several games at the moment - and one of them will be released by the end of the year.

Kojima was speaking to Famitsu magazine, as translated by IGN.

Apparently he's got at least three games in the pipeline, one of which is a big deal that's should sell well in markets outside of Japan. Kojima went on to confirm he expects to get one game out within the next 12 months, and expects 2009 to be an important year.

Toshihiro Nagoshi, the man behind the Yakuza series, also appeared in the mag feature. He said he's set to announce another title currently in production later this year.

But what about Kojima? Will his next game be another instalment in the Metal Gear Solid series? Well, he's previously said he's got ideas for MGS5 - but that he wouldn't want to be involved in the project. But then he always says that.

    "Kojima working on several new games"

    Probably been bought out by MS then, like all the other decent devs ;)

    Having just finished MGS4 I would welcome more from Kojima and his team, especially on the PS3 where I think they will really shine.

    That being said, I am not so interested in another MG game as MGS4 was prety much everything I wanted from the series and brought it to a nice conclusion.

    Something interesting, but different from his past output, would be welcomed.

    He's going to do more cut-scenes for MGS4. Apparenlty he didn't think there was enough exposition, inconsequential information, philosophising, and random (but very cool) bits first time around.

    If it'll be out in a year, I reckon it'll be PC or 360, given the time it took to get as much as they could out of the PS3 first time. Either that, or the same engine.

    ZOE3 would be fantastic news :)

    I'd like some remakes (and translations) of some his PS1 games please, Might be ideal for PSN/XBLA :)

    EDIT: Isn't one of them the iPhone MGS, or is he not involved?

    Please don't be ZOE3.

    If ZOE3 would use motion controls extensively, then I think I could like it more than the previous instalments, which were good, but not good enough for me ... 3D space flight should be able to benefit greatly from the sixaxis, and it would be awesome to find out. But we'll see ...

    ZOE 3 would be my choice. The way you controlled your orbital frame is exactly how I would have liked Armoured cores mechs to be controlled i.e. fluid, fast and fun.

    "especially on the PS3 where I think they will really shine. "
    Because PS3 is shinny black?,

    as inside it's circuits and PVC boards, really like all the others...

    Shinny = shiny
    Shatering = shattering!
    PVC boards = PCB (printed circuit board)

    Please get your spelling and grammar correct prior to pointing out other peoples mistakes.

    Sniggers at Miiiguel PVC reference, think S&M, tight black shiny 'clothing' all over body as per

    Anyhow why the assumption that it would be only for PS3 or Sony's hardware? I mean if publishers want to make profit and PS3 doing good but not that great and only representing a certain proportion of the current gaming consoles globally.

    More Japan publishers/devs are going multi platform.

    I think ZOE 3 would be great and it may be multi platform such as DMC4, the new Tekken and need I go on?

    He wasn't pointing out other people's mistakes (with an apostrophe BTW, if you're going to be correcting grammar you should ensure that your own grammar and punctuation are correct) he was making a joke of the idea that Kojima and his team "shine" on the PS3 stating that it's because it itself is shiny. There's certainly very little that they could do on the PS3 that they couldn't do on PC or Xbox but I think they would be better or faster working on the PS3 as they have more experience developing there.

    Edit: correcting my own grammatical errors, damn you to hell internet irony!
