Kojima demoing MGS4 at GC

Promises big reveals, new games.

Hideo Kojima will be on-hand to demo Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots to attendees at Games Convention later this month.

Kojima will show off a new trailer, "detail key plot points" and reveal "exciting news about forthcoming Metal Gear projects from Kojima Productions", Konami has said.

"When I last came to Leipzig, I promised fans of Metal Gear Solid they would be able to see a playable version of MGS4 - and, to celebrate the special nature of the occasion, I can confirm, that I will bring a special guest with me," Kojima said in a press release.

"I love the enthusiasm European games players constantly show towards our titles, and look forward to showing Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots at the most important European gaming event of the year."

If you're one of those enthusiastic European games-players, then you've probably already watched the handsome high-definition, 15-minute-long hands-on demonstration of the game recorded at a recent 20th anniversary Metal Gear bash in Tokyo and then uploaded to PlayStation Network. If not, do so - it's quite interesting.

MGS4 is due out worldwide exclusively on PS3 in early 2008.

    > "detail key plot points"

I'm not sure I want to see that. I hate spoilers. And MGS3 trailers had many.

    MGS always makes me yawn.

MGS is the most homoerotic series ever made, far too many homosexual cut scenes for my liking.

Surely Kojima means Shinkawa's gonna come along.

I'll be sure not to spoiled thank you.
And why the hell does GC have to be held in Germany anyway? Even Germans admit that their cities are ugly. I wish they held it in Paris, Rome or Barcelona instead, only then would I consider paying it a visit.

    @dahsif

Have you seen the size of Leipzig's convention centre? The main hall alone is about the size of Wembley stadium, and that's only a small part of it. That's why.

    MGS4 on 360 confirmed.

MGS was a good game, I never understood 2 and 3 though. 2 Espcially was just a huge interactive cut scene with terrible acting for the most part. I expect more of the same from MGS 3...

    My prediction for the demo.

Snake will put on a dress to distract the guards (after much fumbling in the menu system) he'll then throw some bread crumbs over them and the guards will be attacked by some pigeons that will crap on them blinding them and allow snake to kill them. However a sniper will shoot snake in the head causing a large bullet wound in his shoulder and causing him to bleed everywhere allowing guards to follow him. To counteract this snake runs to the nearest news agent and buys a copy of the Sun and immediatly turns to page three to stare at Zoe 24 from London which causes the wound to close up. He then jumps behind the counter and shoots the guards as they enter. Long boring chat with robot with Otacon's face displayed on the PSP it's holding. End of demo.

Not impossible considering what's already been seen.

PS. I'm actually quite interested in this game and will probably buy it if it's released on a platform I own.

@RexRunti Then why all the bashing? I do find it boring and I wouldn't buy it even if it did come out for XBOX360...

I'd probably wait for my gullible little bro to buy it and then have his run through the game while I watch -- then play it if it is worth playing. I very much prefer SC at this point. MGS died (IMO) after its initial release for PS.

Sony said the Playstation 3 would be due out "exclusively worldwide in the spring," but that never came close to happening, and they knew it didn't have a chance the whole time they were saying it.

When you consider that MGS4 has already been delayed twice, and Playstation 3 games have a terrible reputation for being delayed, I think it's safe to say that the rumors about Metal Gear Solid 4 being released "During the Holiday Shopping Season of 2008," are going to be true.

One person even said, "MGS4 has a Holiday 2008 Birthmark on it."

I bet Metal Gear Solid 4 is released for both Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in time for Holiday season 2008.

But in all honesty, I really don't care that much anymore.

The Realtime Cut-Scene graphics we have seen for the last two years are great. The problem is, the actual Real-time Playable In-Game graphics of Metal Gear Solid 4 SUCK compared to the Cut-Scene stuff and they aren't as good as the graphics as other games currently available.

After Konami showed the actual MGS4 game being played, I totally lost interested in that game.

I'm going to GC, but so far I have no hotel booked and no money.
