King's Bounty gets UK retail date

RPG sleeper-hit here in February.

1C Company has told Eurogamer that King's Bounty: The Legend will arrive in UK shops on 13th February 2009.

But, rather confusingly, eager-beavers can already buy the PC game from numerous digital outlets like Direct2Drive or GamersGate.

There's no word on whether the extra time will be used to tweak the tactical RPG in any way.

King's Bounty: The Legend, developed by Russian studio Katauri, is a reinterpretation of the turn-based fantasy believed to have inspired the creation of Heroes of Might & Magic 18 years ago.

The IP returns to life with a blend of original elements and those improved by the HOMM series over the years. The results have impressed so far, and caused us to turn our critical eye on the game. You can expect our thoughts later this week.

Incidentally, Katauri is already hard at work on an expansion dubbed Armored Princess, although there's no release date attached to the project.

To find out more about both games, head over to our King's Bounty: The Legend and King's Bounty: The Armored Princess gamepages.
