Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days dated

DS RPG arriving here in early October.

Square Enix has announced a 9th October European release date for Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.

This DS mashup of Disney and Final Fantasy revolves around hero Roxas and his mysterious past as part of Organization XIII. Timeline-wise, the setting sits between Kingdom Hearts I and II.

More significantly, 358/2 Days is the first Kingdom Hearts game with multiplayer - a maximum of four friends can team up together.

Renowned FF creator Tetsuya Nomura and his team have made a full 3D world stuffed with hefty bosses, full orchestral soundtrack and varied missions. The Limit Break system from FFVII makes an appearance, as does a Panel System to keep spells, abilities and levels tidy.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days was released for Japan in May, and appears fractionally earlier in the US on 29th September.

Japanese magazine Famitsu scored Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days four nines, totalling 36/40.

This game looks great, though I have never played a Kingdom Hearts game before so will probably be lost in the story.

even if you have played all the kingdom hearts games you'll be lost in the story

I love Kingdom Hearts. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside :) One of my top games ever, so glad to see a DS version on the way, and not looking too shabby if I do say so.

I've never played a Kingdom Hearts game but this looks fun. The non-Disney cast seem a bit 'emo' and into themselves from what I've heard though, but I guess that's only to be expected from Square.

    Looks surprisingly good.

I'd be more excited if it were a main series game, but I'm willing to give it a go. It does look very nice, at least.

@Cid - techically it IS a main game it fills in those 358 and a bit days between Chain and KH2 :) and Birth by sleep fills in the origin storys

I know they link the games together, but they're still spin-offs. Just as CoM was.

Not that I think there's anything wrong with that, of course. I'm just not so into the series that I care all that much about side-games. KH3 will be a different story.

KH3 just needs to come out, if anyone has seen it, regarding the special ending at the end of the KH2 international edition any idea if that was a refernce to birth by sleep or kH3?

Regardless I'll be getting this and birth by sleep, october this year is pretty early usually it takes squenix at least a year to even think about bringing games to europe.

been playing the japanese version a bit, it's extremely faithful to the KH series in gameply, music and looks, i'll defintely be picking this up when it's released

    MilkybKid1985:

It filled in the blanks, that's all. The only two main series Kingdom Hearts games are KH1 and 2. They're the ones that matter most.

So the name of this game is really "Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days"? ... doesn't beat "Infinite Undiscovery", but it comes close. Well as long as it's good...
