King of Fighters XII delayed News

Xbox 360 PlayStation 3 News by Robert Purchese

1 September, 2009

Ignition has pushed the European release of King of Fighters XII back to 25th September. The fighting game had been penned in for a late August release.

The 12th instalment builds on the long-running series by redrawing all the character sprites in fabulous detail. There are numerous new acrobatic moves to smash the face of your opponent with, too.

But can it stand up to the excellent Street Fighter IV and BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger?

Eurogamer's Matt Edwards likes a fight, so we put the game and question to him. Head over to his King of Fighters XII review to find out more.

I suspect they are pressing a version with the patch as standard or something like that. Even with a patch, it does not compare favourably to SFIV or BB. They need to up their game a little in order to compete, especially with BB which has a fantastic array of options and a solid online mode.

Good work. This will now get lost under a pile of September releases.

Street Fighter IV was way overrated ?...Very simple button masher esp with Ken or Ryu!...The graphics on backgrounds and characters lacked any atmosphere and silly looking cartoony look to Ken and others. The 2.5d spoilt the special moves with all it's over the top camera zooming in & out - losing focus on the special moves iimpact and keeping focused compared to 2d. The voice was so bloody annoying at the start of each match, inc the music which was just cheesy.
