A "more comic strip version" of her.

Rumours are swirling that the Tomb Raider movie franchise is getting a "reboot", with TV star Kim Kardashian signing up to turn it off and turn it back on again.

That's according to ShowbizSpy, which says Kardashian is in talks to star as Lara Croft in the next film.

"Hollywood insiders" are quoted as saying, "This will be something very different to Angelina’s Lara. Kim is wanted to play a far more comic strip version of Lara which would be shot in 3D and aimed at a teen audience."

ShowbizSpy points out that Kardashian has previously said she would "really love to make movies". Well then.

Well, she certainly has the...qualifications...phyisique-wise that is. No idea wether she can act, but looking at her, i guessing not, (don't know why, just a hunch). Not that it'll matter much in a 3D, teen-oriented movie.

She has the body... nothing more... but look at the previous "Lara" films, they were crap even with some decent actors in the cast...

I've seen her boxing, even if it was staged she was getting owned, but occassionally threw out the odd belter. I think she can handle the role. Apparently she is taking acting classes so we'll see...

So what's this going to be called? 'Keeping up with the Crofts'?

Oh! and as for her 'wanting' to play comic version, I highly doubt she approached them and said... "Yeah I like, watched the one with Angelina, and she's cool and that, but I really like, dig Lara from the comics so, could you make me like her?"

Tbh with you lot, she DOESN'T have the body to play Lara Croft. She's absolutely bangable, don't get me wrong, but Croft needs to be athletic and slender. Kim would need to lose a lot of weight because she's more the curvy type. Again, please don't get me wrong. I would destroy her anyway, but she isn't right for the part at all.

@Sleepymagpie she's of Armenian ancestry IIRC. And yeah she is basically just like Paris Hilton- she is famous for being rich and stupid and having rich friends. It's all her rich lawyer father's money.

But yeah Lara Croft is supposed to be athletic, intelligent and English and have big tits- I'm pretty sure Kardashian can only manage one of those characteristics.

They should get Michelle Ryan, she basically already played Lara Croft on that terrible Doctor Who special she was on.

The whole point of Lara Croft is that she's classy, right? You want to nail her, but she's got a bit of class and probably has standards.

Kim Kardashian is just an absolute dirt. Not suited, but it's not as if the film's going to be any good anyway. So yes. Go for it.

I wish Hollywood wasn't run by fat sweaty cigar smoking old guys looking for a quick buck.

If done correctly there's so much to work with in the Lara Croft character. She's a sole survivor of a planecrash that killed her mother. She survived for days in the mountains at the age of twelve. She's scarred, damaged goods, she's hardened by her misery.
It's why she didn't fit in in the world of British elite. She's still classically schooled in fencing, ballet and speaks many languages.
She tries to find an identity by threading in her fathers footsteps. A father that's gone missing...

She's both extremely tough and extremely vulnarable. Any actress looking to play the part should have those characteristics.

Kim Kardashian isn't that character, Kim Kardashian is a hoochy momma. I like hoochy momma's as much as the next guy but keep that woman away from a role as Lara Croft.
