The Killzone 2 tourbus is coming News

PlayStation 3 News by Robert Purchese

19 February, 2009

Sony has said a Killzone 2 Mobile Training Centre will be heading to Brighton, Birmingham and Manchester before the game launches on 27th February.

This travelling circus offers players tips and training from Killzone 2 experts (QA testers, probably); advice that should provide a crucial headstart when venturing online.

Exact dates and times are not mentioned on ThreeSpeech. Also, you'll need to be over 18 to take part.

The wait for Guerrilla Games' PS3-exclusive blockbuster ends next Friday, and, thankfully, has been more than worthwhile.

Head over to our Killzone 2 review to find out why.

Also on the press release was a bit saying "And if you bastard Scotsmen think we want any of your clearly fake money, you can go screw a Meerkat!" Okay, he might not have said that, but how much would it have costed to buzz up to Edinburgh? It's a bus, it's got wheels! Though to be fair they might announce more venues.

Still, I can't really see this selling many copies more. I'd bet most going will already have an interest in the game and would probably buy it anyway. Nice concept though.

Maybe, maybe not. But it generates product awareness for Playstation as a whole, which is sorely needed.

I wonder if this is like a more serious Vengabus

Never thought about the general Playstation marketing, which has been lacking. As long as they don't lay on any "only possibly on PS3!" stuff too thick, and stick to "if you like it, it's on our console alone".

And we've all seen Killzone 2 now, it'll be a less serious Vengabus. That game needs to chill out and stop being so colourful and cheery :p I do like it though.

So like a gritty version of the Christmas coke ads? (colors being drained away from the surroundings as the truck approaches)

# ... And everybody's jumping,
New York to San Fransisco,
An intercity disco,
The wheels of steel are turning,
And traffic lights are burning,
So if you like to party,
Get on and move your body! #

I get your drift Cheese ;-)
What the whole fuss is about Killzone 2 is beyond me; I didn't like it, especially the controls which suck. And it doesn't look mindblowing too, but hey, the PS3 got it first decent shooter. Hoorah!

Did you try all the control configurations ?
I heard the Alternative2 was the most like COD if that's what you're into.

Christ, I suppose nothing will be mindblowing in a world where Crysis exists....

Meh...I can wait for the full game thanks, but hopefully this gives a few more non-Scottish people a chance to try the game.

@Mellissa

I'm guessing not since he said KZ2 is the first decent shooter for PS3. I'll admit the controls took a little getting used to - mostly thanks to the cover system - but after a few playthroughs of the demo I got the hang of it.

They could get Cliff on the bus. He is dead keen on KZ2, especially for summer holidays.

@Melissa: Yes, I did, but I hate those stupidly designed triggers of the Dualshock 3. I have big hands and my fingers just keep slipping off off them. Who in their mind came up with triggers that are curving OUTWARDS?! I'm used to the Xbox controllers (due to heavy playing) and it's triggers are designed as they should be.My fingers stay in place. And besides control issues, I didn't find the graphics or gameplay THAT incredible?! I surely can't be the only one thinking that?! But Xers3s is right, I should hush now, in case Sony's people hear me. They'd shoot me on the spot for being honest.

I made my own triggers for my DS3, out of the little curved button presses of deoderant cans.

So, the controls don't suck, you just don't like the pad?
