Why should Eurogamer apologise for a review of a game you haven't played yet?

Until you've actually played the full version of Killzone 2, you're really not in a position to argue whether that review is right or wrong, much less demand that Eurogamer score it higher. :|

If you feel the same about that review after playing Killzone 2 yourself, then fair enough, I'm sure many here would be interested in your reasons for a 10/10 score, but until then.....

Anything with lots of movement, which is pretty much all games, looks better with progressive scan. The only game I'd recommend playing with a 1080i res is Myst!

As progressive scan, in the case of 720p, is 720 lines of information to make up the picture. 1080i is two fields of 540 lines of information interlaced together to make up the picture. So 720p actually has more unique information, but somehow on still images 1080i looks better, marginally.

I repeat it because it's probably one of the single most idiotic comments I've ever heard, and contrary to just about what ANYBODY else would say.

Look at PSMag or XBOXmag scores for exclusives and compare them to metacritic or whatever. It's almost always higher from the mag. Always 10/10's, etc.

Still OPM UK is more honest than many but not that harsh as say Edge or EG!

okay now OPM (the OFFICIAL Playstation magazine, thats what the O is for dummies) are a voice for Sony an official voice to review their game and products (Playstation 3, Playstation 2, the PSP, Playstation Portable etc

becuz its an official magazine (there are a few actually in different countries, North America, UK, Australia etc they only review the official products from Sony and so there are less review less games to review less hardware and so the standard of a review goes up becuz its just them doing the review of their own games and service (Playstation Home, Playstation Networking etc) they hold it to a HIGHER STANDARD then the other magazine or sites like eurogamer.net which do a review for all the console and games irregardless of any platform they are on (called multi-platform)

SO IT FOLLOWS THAT LESS REVIEW=LOWER SCORE becuz of HIGHER STANDARD HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SPELL IT OUT FOR YOU DUMMIES TO GET IT IN YOUR HEADS??!?!!?!

Guys, I just checked out Yossy's profile and its more obivous as others said he is taking the piss! As he do have a lot of X360 games inc the more recent one which was Halo3!

10 hours is spot on for most peopel I would expect, I mean most people dont have that much time to play 20 to 30 hours game! My PS3 owning mate at work still took a couple of months to finish Dead Space.

The review and score was expected after what I've seen of KZ2, it does look good. At least I know I've got SOMETHING to look forward to in Feb. With this and COD: WAW on my shelf maybe it's finally time to trade in the old COD4...

10 hours is a good length for a shooter. ill have to be content with LBP for now, sony have my fallout disc the nippo's!

i LIKE eurogamers reviews . But having read the negative review which it was. Why A 9? I am getting it, had it on pre order for 2 years but my favourite SP/MP game is gears 1&2 but I am not stupid enough to say there isnt faults with the game and for me its a matter of taste.

It doesnt seem like a negative review to me. It highlights the few things which seem to make the game fall shy of a 10/10 score.

Will get this game but where is the blood & destructible environments, also has been mentioned/looks it's fairly liner!!!!...After seeing Gears Of War 2, and the demo of Resident Evil 5, playing COD 4(PS3), Far Cry 2(360) - I was hoping to be absolutely blown away; but while not disappointed I'm not that impressed that almost 3yrs in the making and hype I was hoping for something that simply out does previous games esp GOW 2 and soon Resi 5 .

May change once I play full game but so far videos seem to have disappointed me.

hmm just like to comment while games like fable and GOW2 got 10's they are a different genre of game rpg's and 3rd person shooters.

yes halo 3 got a higher score and i cant see why graphically not as good as kz2 or a.i wise not as good imo storyline ... hmm thats equalboth full of twists and turns.

but this is a great score for something thats up against games like COD4/5 which many veiwed to be the best of the best.

i think FPS wise .... its top place for me 1.

no doubt it hold best game of the year .. so far !

and no doubt it holds atleast 2nd place best fps game of this gen to many reveiw sites although i do disagree that on that front.

cant compare it to games like gow2 or fable because well they both play differently try comparing games like uncharted 2 to gow2 thats more fitting both are 3rd person and employ the same mechanics in the game.
