A month before the games supposed release and they can't tell people when its coming out for sure in UK yet. This is exactly what is wrong with Sony this gen.

Methinks not, its still to expensive for the average joe. Killzone just doesn't have the pull of 'H*** and G**.

Its a gamers game and most gamers will have either a PS3 or 360 by now.

I'm also curious... I know GBP has been dropping hard against EUR, but 299... 324 euros, in the mainland the PS3 is still selling at 399 euros. Has it been 299 GBP for a long time?

They're wasting their time with all these special bundles adding to the confusion. Just sell the bloody console with a headset, the remote and a HDMI cable in the box and have done with it.

It's been £299 for ages FirewalkR; Sony are making a lot less per unit sale in the UK than they were this time last year. So I wouldn't expect a price cut anytime soon, they are probably struggling to keep the price on a level for us sterling paupers.

Price is the same as the LBP pack, so it's an 80GB with DS3. Same ol', same ol'. Maybe Sony should stop these pack-ins with special boxes and just, y'know, have a single box for the 80GB SKU with which they just include the bonuses?

And although I'm from The Netherlands and Killzone is a game product (one of the few) of the Dutch, I still know it's going to be overhyped to the max and when it's out it's going to be so underwhelmingly bad. Like a deja-vu, so to speak.

Still to expensive for what would be in addition to my 360's, I want one but it's not worth £300

PS3 price, especially in the UK, has been a problem from the first day of release for Sony fans such as myself. If Sony would just stop messing around with bundles - in unsuccessful attempts to make their extortionately priced console look attractive - and actually focussed on being competitive, as well as bringing back backwards compatibility, then I might consider the damn thing. Otherwise, I'm quite happily enjoying several titles on my PS2 and PSP units at the moment.

Nintendo started with a reasonable price. Microsoft has now reached a more-than reasonable price. So what is Sony's problem? Surely they must realise now that they will NEVER recoup their hardware development costs for this third generation and must therefore focus on being competitive to increase their installed base? Is that not a reasonable and logical point?

I mean, even stand-alone BluRay players now cost less than the PS3, so that argument about people buying it because it's a cheap BluRay player is no longer valid; something that harks back from the old days of the PS2 being a cheap DVD player.

So what is Sony's problem? Do they not want to win our hearts and minds this time around?

If you know its going to be crap then why are you here? Why bother finding out about it at all?

We'll see boys. And yes I do own a PS3, just add Biker_Bob_1971 and you'll see. I'm pissed at Sony for delivering such a crap machine and ridicule myself for falling for the same trap as the PSP was. Neither gets played and yes, the xbox 360 is my choice of console. It's my 7th 360 console drumbaby, but I don't bother, I get a new one each time and I always have a spare one, so no problem there.

Edit: Do I really need to take a picture of my PS3? Sigh...and ooh...it's a launchmodel with PS2 comptability! I'll even put myself on the picture for you.

Considering the price of the PS3 I can pretty much echoe what zedzee wrote...a German electronic chain is selling a standalone bluray player for €169 at the moment and even this price will most likely plummet over the next couple of months. There's no way Sony will be able to keep their €399 price tag if their really want to move units the way MS does.

Oh..but this is my 3rd PS3, and that's getting hardly used while the 360 gets overused. Mind you the 2nd refurbished PS3 from Sony wasn't repaired AT all. Their mistake, granted, but still. I'm not mad, I just like games. And when you have the money, why not? I never had to pay anything for a repair. I don't mind. And so do 28 million.

I told you: I bought the story of teh powa of the cell. Look, just add me on the friendlist and I'll videochat with you and let you see my PS3 through the PS3 Eye, ok? Will that be enough proof? I just find it a very bad console, may I? It's my OPINION. Just buy a decent Blu-ray player and an Xbox 360 and you see what I mean. I feel cheated of 700 Euro for a machine which does a half decent job, gets overhauled time and time again losing features instead of gaining them and creating stupid XMB options and tools (Life For PlayStation, Home? Anyone?) which no-one ever uses. But ADD me and you will see I'm not an Xbot or fanboy. I hate MS as much as Sony for their arrogancy. But at least Microsoft did a decent job developing the system to a very good games console with like Live serivce. Sony doesn't even know what the PS3 is about. The hardware of MS may be faulty, but at least they don't charge 200 Euro for repairs like Sony do. Now you...

I hope you can understand some Dutch but this popular Dutch consumer program talks about the too frequent burning of the Blu-Ray laser within 1 1/2 year of usage. Sony lets the consumer pay 200 Euro for repairs, which is against Dutch law, since such an apparatus should have a longer life expectancy than 1 1/2 years. Sony refused but after sueing threats from this program, they yielded. BUT apparantly Sony STILL asks the 200 Euro. Shows their arrogancy and they will probably go to court now. Oh..and well built? As I said, this is my third. The first had a burned blu-ray laser. Within 8 months. Wish you lots of happiness with your PS3...! Have fun watching the show. There are also many angry consumers' (I am in one of their threads too) comments in their. You see, it probably all went well with your PS3 (still), but I'll speak to you again when yours breaks down...

The PS3 get as much stick for it's lack of decent games as much as it's price.

They could cost $1.50 and I still wouldnt want one. When it gets a decent games catalog then I'll buy. Not before.
