Killzone 2 gets release date News • News • Eurogamer.net

It's out early next year.

SCEE boss David Reeves has revealed Killzone 2 is scheduled for a February 2009 release.

He made the announcement at the PlayStation Day conference this afternoon. A new trailer of the game was shown, and it's looking "stunning" according to our own Tom Bramwell. The trailer should pop up on an Internet near you soon with a bit of luck.

looks stunning but does it PLAY stunning. I hope it plays better then the early gameplay videos because if not, then there isn't anything I saw that made me want to play the game

Eurogamer is so biased against the PS3 - I mean, "stunning"? Pfft. Killzone 2 is so beautiful that all who happen to gaze upon it become as angels; pure and holy. When this game is released, all real-world conflicts will end. Oh and it also eradicates cancer. How much did Microsoft pay you for that restrained 'opinion' Tom, eh?

Dunno - I reckon I'm getting all FPS-ed out at the moment, so feeling just a little bit meh about this. LittleBigPlanet, Wipeout HD, Motorstorm 2 - now they're getting my swimsuit area tingling!

So... we can probably expect it for June next year, accounting for a few months' delay? I look forward to this, if only to see if it has been worth it. It's taking a helluva long time in development, though.

The original E3 2005 trailer was stunning - it stunned me into not buying a PS3. Lets hope the new trailer is at least actually rendered by a PS3, and if we are really good it might even be in real-time.
