Killing Floor to get extra content soon News

PC News by Robert Purchese

22 July, 2009

Tripwire will soon begin rolling extra content out for co-op survival horror game Killing Floor.

First will be the free Heavy Metal pack, according to the Killing Floor website, that any owner of the game can play. Inside are an old ironworks-based map called Foundry, plus new weapons AK-47 and a Japanese Katana sword.

Then comes the first premium pack, which adds four extra playable characters to the game. These will include a Horzine foundry worker and soldier in prototype Horzine armour. But what is Horzine? Is it a magazine?

Killing Floor, released in May, has been selling like hotcakes on Steam. It started life as an Unreal Tournament mod, and involves six friends holding off hordes of Specimen zombie things.

Head over to our Killing Floor review to find out more.

Surely this game is going to get buried when L4D 2 comes out.

I wondered what the "additional content" tab was for in the steam gui...

Artemus - it's an older game than L4D and people still play it in preference. L4D2 won't do a thing - you can still only have 4 players and no iron sights. I much prefer KF to L4D.

Charging for this game in the first place was an atrocity because it's terrible. Charging for DLC is just a joke.

@ Artemus

That's a pretty strange thing to say to be honest...

Most people who play Killing Floor either play it in preference to L4D or because they are bored shitless of L4D's tedius gameplay.

I haven't seen anything in the L4D 2 hype that will make me wanna stop playing Killing Floor...

@ viper_h

The only joke aroung here is your comments... there are thousands of people playing and enjoying this at the moment.

Seriously, I've had more value and game time on this than most 'full price' games I've bought in years...

You're opinion seems to be in the minority, Im afraid.

I gave up after getting all my perks to level 2. Takes too long to get them to the next level.
