Katamari creator's new game News

PlayStation 3 News by Robert Purchese

17 July, 2007

Namco Bandai has revealed a new game from the creator of Katamari Damacy, Keita Takahashi.

It's called Nobi Nobi Boy, according to IGN, and revolves around a worm-like character who appears to stretch and grow - Nobi can mean "to stretch" in Japanese, apparently. What can it mean in English, readers?

So far only artwork has been released, but the style seems familiar and friendly.

Takahashi's whereabouts have been questioned ever since his name failed to be associated with Beautiful Katamari, the first next-generation rolly-action-puzzle-collect-'em-up.

We'll be keeping our news-ears peeled for more details on Nobi Nobi Boy, and will let you know when anything turns up.

Until then, you can get a look at the trio of art-shots released at the PlayStation Premier event in Japan.

With a name like "Nobi Nobi Boy" it's only a matter of time before the Daily Mail tries to get it banned :P

Nobi can mean "to stretch" in Japanese, apparently.

Grammar police reporting for duty. The verb is "nobiru". It can also mean "to extend".

Mingster... first post.

With all the recent spat of PS3 news why the hell are they telling us now and not at E3?
Would've made a much better E3 showing from Sony.

Because E3 doesn't really have a big international focus. It's very much America's event. Unlike the announcements today, that have all had a Japanese air about them.

Holy freezing crap, you brits make absolutely anything into a dirty word, don't you. How many of these "incidents" have there been lately?

I expect within ten or twenty years time you lot can't even speak a proper sentence anymore without looking at each other awkwardly. "He said "a", hahaha! You know, a as in ass?"

On a sidenote: I thought this guy went on to make kids playgrounds?

I think that's the funniest screenie I've ever had the pleasure of.
It just had to have a big pink head, didn't it?

If Katamari Damacy was based on the King of the Cosmos getting p*ssed and smashing up all the stars in the sky, who's guessing that this little fellow is the result of a night on the galactic vindaloo?
