Just Cause 2 pre-order goodies detailed

Map! Guns! Car! That sort of thing!

Square Enix Eidos Taito And Friends has announced that people who pre-order Just Cause 2 will be rewarded with various bonus treats, including a foldout map of the island of Panau where the game is set.

Pre-order details can be found on the official website.

The foldout map and goodies are pictured below too. The goodies comprise the Black Market Chaos Pack, which is described as "downloadable", so you probably get a redeemable code with the game.

What's in the pack? Stuff! There's the Agency Hovercraft (go anywhere, with turret-mounted grenade launcher), Rico's Signature Gun (sexy pistol), the Bull's Eye Assault Rifle (lighter and more accurate than other assault rifles, with higher-magnification scope), the Chevalier Classic (awesome car), and the Chaos Parachute (a parachute with a skull on it, obviously).

Just Cause 2 is due out for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on 26th March. It's a mentalist openworld shooter where you can use a double-ended grapple hook to attach enemies to aeroplanes and stuff. Check out our recent hands-on for more information and look out for a few more details very soon.

Had a first hand preview of this being played at the Edinburgh Gaming Festival and it was nothing short of the funnest looking game I've ever seen. I loved the first and can't wait for this to land in my lap.

This game looks AWESOME! I can't even imagine how funny it would be to Attach a helicopter to a commercial aeroplane and watch the plane try to take off with the helicopter being dragged behind it, rotors spinning and everything.

Agreed. I looks like a fun GTA4. Not that GTA4 was rubs, but it was a bit, y'know, earnest at times.

Sooooooooooo, should I go with some new ugg boots then or not?

^^You know you want to.... Do it!!! ;)

Anyway... this game looks great in a totally bonkers kind of way, never played the first one but I've been considering getting it pre-owned for £4.99, anyone think it's worth a go at that price or is it too outdated?
  • tanithfirst #6 2 years ago

@ Rodriquez... I actually really enjoyed the first game and for £4.99 you can't really go wrong! The side missions are kinda dull and repetative, but I never got bored of the grappling hook :)

For £4.99 its a bargin. It plays great and it actually still looks very nice.

Cheers for the feedback guys, might give it a go then!

Just Cause was great fun but the buggiest game I have ever played, it still kept me hooked long enough to get a 1000 G out of it though.

"Square Enix Eidos Taito And Friends" is this another merge we haven't been told about? :)

Same here. One of two games i have the full 1000GS for. A really fun game and definitely worth a go for under a £5! Just messing about for hours in helicopters and with the grappling hook was worth it alone.

I have the full 1000GS on Just Cause as well which is saying something as its not a very easy game to get that full 1000 on.

I found once I unlocked the deployable gyrocopter I loved just flying around and exploring such a large environment and that tied in well with getting all the achievements.

Basically what they've done here is they took their "buy the game new" incentives and made them pre-order incentives and only let certain retailers sell it, and call it a Limited Edition. These kind of "offers" are just getting stupid now. Just let me buy the game and get the content you created for it thanks.

Aye, Glaeken the gyrocopter was great fun for messing about with- and also for using it in the race challenges! Hope it makes a return.

My question is, is there a hovercraft and a chevy already in-game and the pre-order pack is just an updated version of them?
  • stoopidgreg #16 2 years ago

wow a map! i've never seen a game come with a map before!
