Japan charts: new Dragon Quest at No. 1
Wii and handheld titles dominate top 30.
New DS title Dragon Quest VI: Maboroshi no Daichi has gone straight to the top of the Japanese charts, according to Media Create.
Another newcomer, End of Eternity for PS3, is in second place, while old timer New Super Mario Bros. Wii is third. The Xbox 360 version of EoE is at number eight, making it the only game for Microsoft's console in the chart.
There are 9 PSP games in the top 30, making Sony's handheld the winner this week. But not by much - the Wii is behind with eight titles while the DS is on seven. Ye olde PS2 only managed to get one game in there at No. 21, the spectacular-sounding Princess Saver! Eternal Love for My Lady. 10/10 surely. Unless that's the Japanese name for Dante's Inferno.

The best?
MAG at number10? Sony must be very pleased with how well it has done, can't say it floats my boat, but yeah, well done

Hope NIS bring it over to the west (without any crash bugs and untranslated text though).

It's the third party curse for the Wii. What should be decent sellers are just getting out-muscled by Nintendo's titles and are getting very little marketing support. Crystal Bearers should've been a big seller too but it's flopped.

Didnt realise there is X360 version too and coming in a respectable 8th, so a multi platform title one.

That's generally the way the Japanese charts work. Games will do big business for a few weeks and then trail off into oblivion, Dragon Quest IX was released around the same time and that's nowhere to be seen any more, neither is the much more recent Final Fantasy XIII.
Apart from budget releases the only games that have hung on for a while are the less "hardcore" examples, like Wii Fit/Sports and Tomodachi Collection.
