Iron Maiden in Guitar Hero 80s

Along with Anthrax, apparently.

Activision has announced some more of the tracks going into this summer's Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s.

Due out in July Stateside on PS2, Rock the 80s is now known to include stuff from the likes of Iron Maiden and Oingo Boingo. Right.

The official reveal identifies the various tracks listed at the bottom of this item, but a separate note - posted on The PRP - picks up on a couple of others mentioned on the back of a pre-order box.

Given the overlap with Activision's official new list, it seems likely that the others on the pre-order list - Anthrax's "Caught in a Mosh", The Vapors' "Turning Japanese" and Winger's "Seventeen" - will also join the line-up.

Anyway, here's Activision's newly-added-track list:

• Hold On Loosely (as made famous by .38 Special)
• No One Like You (as made famous by Scorpions)
• Only a Lad (as made famous by Oingo Boingo)
• Radar Love (as made famous by White Lion)
• Ballroom Blitz (as made famous by Krokus)
• The Warrior (by Scandal)
• What I Like About You (as made famous by The Romantics)
• Wrath Child (as made famous by Iron Maiden)

Previously announced tracks:

• I Wanna Rock (by Twisted Sister)
• I Ran (by Flock of Seagulls)
• Round and Round (as made famous by Ratt)
• Metal Health (as made famous by Quiet Riot)
• Holy Diver (as made famous by Dio)
• Heat Of The Moment (as made famous by Asia)
• 18 and Life (as made famous by Skid Row)
• Bathroom Wall (as made famous by Faster Pussycat)
• Lonely is the Night (as made famous by Billy Squier)
• Nothing But a Good Time (as made famous by Poison)
• Play With Me (as made famous by Extreme)
• Shaken (as made famous by Eddie Money)
• Synchronicity II (as made famous by The Police)

Not as good as The Trooper - so that's ok

Move along

How about you stop pretending and announce this for 360 too, Activision? I don't think you're fooling anyone.

Also, how about some Dire Straits? Money for Nothing is an 80s song and it would be an amusingly ironic addition...

# Radar Love (as made famous by White Lion)
# Ballroom Blitz (as made famous by Krokus)

!!!!?!!?!?!??!

NOT 'made famous by', rather 'covered in the 80's by'

Scorpions, but not Rock You Like a Hurricane makes me a sad panda.

Also White Lion ruined a brilliant song (made famous by Golden Earring, only Dutch band ever in America's top 40)

This has to come out on the 360. Definitely.

How can they make an 80s guitar game and not include Prince? One of, if not the, greatest living guitarists. Well how Harmonix, how?
• Dizzy #7 5 years ago

Golden Earring original of Radar Love is about 1000000 times better than that White Lion shit.

Anyway... Run to the Hills. Nuff said!

Tiger_Walts, that's exactly what I was thinking

With Ballroom Blitz, I'd say it was probably Tia Carrera that made that one famous

Uhm, you can't have an 80s Guitar Hero without at least one track by KISS.

Obvious choices would be one of these: Crazy Nights, Heaven's On Fire, I Still Love You, Tears Are Falling, Lick It Up, All Hell's Breaking Loose, Uh! All Night, King of the Mountain, Hide Your Heart etc.

Available as x360 DLC soon I would guess.

Well at least this is a reasonably good tack listing unlike GH2 which was lack lustre at best.

Regards the KISS comment elsewhere in this thread, arguably KISS were going through a very hard time at this point but did produce some corking songs, but to be honest, I don't want another KISS song if it's a awful as the version of Strutter they did on GH2.

They murdered the Guitar, the drums...oh yeah, and Paul Stanleys incredible vocals.

Now if they do a Guitar Hero 90s and put a couple of tracks from " Revenge" that would be sweet...."Domino" anyone ?

I'm not so sure that KISS did have that hard a time back in the 80s, apart from the fact that Gene Simmons were rather unfocused on the band - Paul Stanley's songwriting pulled them through, and almost all his songs were potential classics (he still hasn't written a downright bad song, imo). Unfortunately, it was becoming a rule that they had 50% of the songs each, thus creating only half-good albums with both highs and lows - Stanley giving us the highs and Simmons giving us the lows.

Other than that, they managed quite well, and while their popularity had fallen, they still had a pretty huge die-hard fan base.

I couldn't this game any more. Come on release it already! :)

Ballroom Blitz (as made famous by Krokus)

Yeah, because the original version by Sweet was sooo unknown...
• AOFanboi #15 5 years ago

Weren't KISS on one of those Singstar thingies with their detour into disco called I Was Made For Loving You? They have to serve time for inflicting that travesty of a song on the world first.

I guess they picked Wrathchild because it's one of the Maiden songs that has a near-constant complex guitar track, while some of the others are more singing with guitar bridges and solos.

All I can think about with 'Wraith Child' now is Brucey's slip while performing at Donington, haha.
