Iron Maiden in Guitar Hero 80s
Along with Anthrax, apparently.
Activision has announced some more of the tracks going into this summer's Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s.
Due out in July Stateside on PS2, Rock the 80s is now known to include stuff from the likes of Iron Maiden and Oingo Boingo. Right.
The official reveal identifies the various tracks listed at the bottom of this item, but a separate note - posted on The PRP - picks up on a couple of others mentioned on the back of a pre-order box.
Given the overlap with Activision's official new list, it seems likely that the others on the pre-order list - Anthrax's "Caught in a Mosh", The Vapors' "Turning Japanese" and Winger's "Seventeen" - will also join the line-up.
Anyway, here's Activision's newly-added-track list:
- Hold On Loosely (as made famous by .38 Special)
- No One Like You (as made famous by Scorpions)
- Only a Lad (as made famous by Oingo Boingo)
- Radar Love (as made famous by White Lion)
- Ballroom Blitz (as made famous by Krokus)
- The Warrior (by Scandal)
- What I Like About You (as made famous by The Romantics)
- Wrath Child (as made famous by Iron Maiden)
Previously announced tracks:
- I Wanna Rock (by Twisted Sister)
- I Ran (by Flock of Seagulls)
- Round and Round (as made famous by Ratt)
- Metal Health (as made famous by Quiet Riot)
- Holy Diver (as made famous by Dio)
- Heat Of The Moment (as made famous by Asia)
- 18 and Life (as made famous by Skid Row)
- Bathroom Wall (as made famous by Faster Pussycat)
- Lonely is the Night (as made famous by Billy Squier)

Also, how about some Dire Straits? Money for Nothing is an 80s song and it would be an amusingly ironic addition...

# Ballroom Blitz (as made famous by Krokus)
!!!!?!!?!?!??!
NOT 'made famous by', rather 'covered in the 80's by'

Also White Lion ruined a brilliant song (made famous by Golden Earring, only Dutch band ever in America's top 40)

Anyway... Run to the Hills. Nuff said!

With Ballroom Blitz, I'd say it was probably Tia Carrera that made that one famous

Obvious choices would be one of these: Crazy Nights, Heaven's On Fire, I Still Love You, Tears Are Falling, Lick It Up, All Hell's Breaking Loose, Uh! All Night, King of the Mountain, Hide Your Heart etc.

Regards the KISS comment elsewhere in this thread, arguably KISS were going through a very hard time at this point but did produce some corking songs, but to be honest, I don't want another KISS song if it's a awful as the version of Strutter they did on GH2.
They murdered the Guitar, the drums...oh yeah, and Paul Stanleys incredible vocals.
Now if they do a Guitar Hero 90s and put a couple of tracks from " Revenge" that would be sweet...."Domino" anyone ?

Other than that, they managed quite well, and while their popularity had fallen, they still had a pretty huge die-hard fan base.

Yeah, because the original version by Sweet was sooo unknown...

I guess they picked Wrathchild because it's one of the Maiden songs that has a near-constant complex guitar track, while some of the others are more singing with guitar bridges and solos.
