Iron Chef game coming to Wii, DS
Allez cuisine! Eat a pepper!
A new game based on culinary competition show Iron Chef is coming to Wii and DS - in the US, anyway.
For those who aren't familiar, Iron Chef show sees amateur cooks facing off against professionals in KITCHEN STADIUM. They are challenged to produce a variety of dishes based on a single ingredient, with invariably disgusting results.
The original Japanese version of Iron Chef has the best opening sequence of any television programme since Going for Gold. Don't miss the pepper bit at the end.
As the title of the videogame tie-in suggests, Iron Chef America: Supreme Cuisine is based on the US version of the show, which is inferior. However, the trailer does look promising. ALLEZ CUISINE!
Show host Mark Dacascos has signed up to lend his voice and likeness to the game, with "additional talent" also said to be involved. Here's hoping that includes Eurogamer favourite Iron Chef Italian.
Apparently you can expect "innovative control dynamics", "fast-paced action" and "unique gamesmanship". That's according to a press release which also includes the phrase "recipe for success" and promises "the 'secret ingredient' to these games will be family fun".
Iron Chef America: Supreme Cuisine is set for a release in North America this summer.
