Surprised at the score, after THAT introduction. Sounded far worse than a 6. :)

I have seen that yesterday, actually. Like most of the other reviews out there it seems to focus on the fighting, which is somewhat weird because combat really isn't an important part of the game. Just like everything else in Bumpy Trot, most of the battles are easy and optional.

Anyway, back to Atelier Iris...

Never played AI 1 yet. Am I missing much?

Yes, absolutely. It's a real gem. You should try to get a US copy though, I've heard terrible things about the PAL version.

Steambot Chronicle is going to be released in PAL so I rather wait to see the PAL review that a NA import review.

Its eurogamer, not importgamer.

The first (here released) Atelier Iris was great at start, but became increasingly mundane as it went on, and it had NO over-arching, real plot. But the item synthetization for shops and the sprite graphics were its main draw for me, so I kept going till the disappointing end.

Shame this sequel doesn't improve on it.

Chances for a PAL release (including sales figures for Eternal Mana 1), anyone?

It had vibration taken out as well, for some reason.

At least they left the Japanese voice track in, although it resets to English every time you reload the game.
