iPhone's rate-on-delete feature binned

Apple has removed the feature which asks iPhone users to rate Apps when deleting them.
As spotted by Mac Rumours, the feature invited users to rate Apps between 1 and 5 stars. Some developers complained this unfairly skewed the average rating as those who liked the App were not prompted to provide a score.
Meanwhile, Apple has also revealed the new iPhone OS 4 software due later this year will introduce a social network service. Titled Game Center, it will allow developers to create Apps which let users invite friends to play a game, start a multiplayer game through a matchmaking service and track achievements and high scores on an online leaderboard.
Other features of the OS 4 software include the long-awaited addition of multitasking for third party apps, folders to better organise apps and a unified inbox for e-mail. For more information, visit GamesIndustry.biz.
