iPhone Metal Gear Solid due this month

Well, most of it, and next month in Europe.

Konami has announced that Metal Gear Solid Touch, its iPhone spin-off of MGS4: Guns of the Patriots, will be released on the App Store this month in the US. A Konami representative told Eurogamer that it will follow in April in Europe.

The US release comes in the form of an 'Advance Edition' consisting of only twelve of the game's 20 levels. The remaining eight will follow later in a free update - how much later, we don't know.

Metal Gear Solid Touch is a simple shooter revisiting characters and locations from the last PS3 instalment of the series. "This commercial warfare adventure follows Old Snake across the Middle East, South America, Eastern Europe, and Shadow Moses as he depletes his enemies' stamina with various short-range and long-range weapons," says the press release.

    Just saw the trailer. The gameplay looks very simple, but the graphics are not bad and they seem to have recreated much of the scenes from MGS4, including the Ocelot boss fight on the ship. I'm probably gonna get it.

    What about the N-Gage Metal Gear Solid? Teh biased! I know, it's getting old now, sorry, but I won't be happy until the N-Gage Platform is acknowledged. It'd also be happy if people didn't get it mixed up with the phone, but people are obviously muppets. I'm a muppet too, but at least I can tell the difference.

    That's a pretty sweet looking game though, I wonder how many cutscenes are crammed into it. See what I did there? Cutscenes?
