Yeah. I saw DS, then the 7, was happy, then found out it's actually PSP. Too bad :/

sounds like a really annoying game...

the thought of having to wait around for the game to unlock is ridiculous...

Little ... robot boy?

Transport tubes and cyber potatoes?

WTF? Have they gone mad?

STILL waiting on a decent, modern Harvest Moon. And that cover art makes me want to explode my face. I miss my normal Harvest Moon so..

Sounds good, sound like good improvements to the frighteningly annoying HM gameplay, not sure about the diddling around doing nothing though :(

It's a PSP game. I've got the Japanese version and thus got bored after 1 hour :p

The review was a little scant on detail. How exactly do you go adventuring- are we talking Zelda mixed with Lost-in-Blue-style resourcing? Is the story good? How about the buggy-driving?

Despite the lack of detailed description, personally I think I got a pretty good handle on the sort of atmosphere the game creates, and the third screenshot exactly fits with what the text had me imagining.

More than a thousand words, and it seems there's still information I missed out. I must stress that Innocent Life was incredibly difficult to review - essentially it's just a lovely world to spend time in, despite its numerous oddities, and that really is hard to explain. I'm also fairly certain it's love-or-hate, which makes it impossible to score. The 7 is a reflection of my own experience with the game, but as I point out in the text, it's not going to be everyone's.

You get the buggy after the fourth or fifth story progression, and all it does is speed things up - you hop in with the triangle button, and then it just controls normally.

Like Lost in Blue, going adventuring is simply a matter of going in a direction until you reach an impasse - said impasses are usually lifted by the story progressions, as time goes on, giving you access to further reaches of the island.

As for the story... well. It is good, actually. But so damnably slow!

Thanks for the updates. Are there any little minigames dotted around a la Lost in Blue?

'Fraid not. Although there are things to gather, and caves in which to smash rocks and find things.

A relaxing non-linear adventure? You know, that might just work...

Nrgh. I think I'll give it a miss til the price comes down- though I suppose it's unlikely to come down much, this being a niche title. Already got one slow-burning harvesting game on the go at present (Monster Hunter- which got a 6 yet seems on the strength of the review text to be the better game).

Of course, cyber potatoes. Where did you think microchips come from?

Even PSP has some variety now in it's game library, but somehow I don't enjoy playing on it. I don't even know if I enjoy gaming on DS either. What gives? Is this a crisis in my personal life or something?

GAH!

More games like this on the psp, and i'd be convinced to buy one again!

Thing is, both my ds and psp only get play when im on long plane/train journeys.

I stopped using the psp for that purpose when i got pissed off with the battery life - and none of the games could hold my attention long enough for a 10 hour flight anyhows. Too many required perfect concentration/etc which you just dont get on a flight/train.

This kinda thing wouldve been perfect though.

I agree I seem to find gaming on the move difficult. Either I'm worried about getting my PSP damaged on the mad rush on and off buses/trains or losing my DS stylus.

I bring one along with me to work each day but rarely use it. This is except for Slitherlink and Wipeout Pure, great portable fun, can't work out why.

You just wrote the best first lines of a review ever.

I like this "less wasting time" idea of yours \o/
