Infinity Ward HR rep joins Respawn
15 followed co-founders to new company.
Kristin Cotterell, formerly Human Resources Manager and Recruiter at Infinity Ward, has now signed on as the Human Resources and Recruitment Manager at Respawn Entertainment.
Cotterell, who announced her new employer via her LinkedIn profile, previously revealed she was leaving Infinity Ward last week, just as many of her former co-workers were filing a royalty lawsuit against Activision.
She is the fifteenth former Infinity Ward employee to publicly follow Infinity Ward co-founders Jason West and Vince Zampella to their new venture at Respawn, and should be instrumental in helping the new company recruit even more talent.

As a side note, how fucking easy is her job going to be?
Monday 9:00AM
1. Call all remaining IW employees to see if they want a new job.
2. Send them out their contracts.
3. Have Lunch
4. Go Home
Tuesday 9:00AM
4. Fuck off to the Bahamas for the rest of the Year.

When they immediately defect to your competitor (who also happens to be hiring all your other former employees) I would imagine the alarm bells get pretty deafening - especially when your biggest asset is your employees.
It also speaks volumes about Activisions claims that staff were being treated poorly by IW and denied bonuses that they are still so keen to leave. Could they be fibbing ?!!

The Bungie deal is for Activision to publish the games from a single new IP. The IP will still be owned by Bungie and they will remain independant.

As if Activison could give a shit. Why pay a primadonna dev team to update COD:MWx, when you can get some jobbing team to re-skin it every 24 months and still sell bucketloads?
And if the next one is shit, do you really think the fickle masses will buy the one after that? Or will they move on to the next big franchise?

The 'fickle masses' are mostly parents buying games for their kids. And those very same kids are easily swayed by glossy marketing...something Activision do very well, so yeah, it could be absolute dog-shit (just like MW2) and people will still buy it.

Bollocks, the biggest asset is the brand name. Harmonix leaving and Guitar Hero going to shit after 2 didn't stop them selling. The odd-numbered shit CoD games still sell 7 figures. Activision couldn't give a toss, as long as they keep hold of the name.
