inFamous 2's Cole re-redesigned
Are you happy now?
Developer Sucker Punch has redesigned inFamous 2 star Cole McGrath so he looks more like he did in the original game, according to a report by IGN.
The version of inFamous' parkour-loving protagonist shown to press at E3 2010 last month had more hair, tattoos and other trendy bits and bobs. Christian Donlan went hands-on for Eurogamer.
In the first game, he was a mere bike messenger. In inFamous 2, not so much. Guess that's what success does for you.
However, IGN has seen two images of Cole's new look for the game's appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con, and reckons "he looks more like the person we played as in the original inFamous and less like the man who was in all of those E3 screens and videos".
inFamous 2 is due out on the PS3 next year. Check Cole – at least the E3 2010 version of Cole – out below.

I have faith if SP thought that Cole needed this new look, then it's all going to work out in the end. Don't cow tow to a silly internet out cry.
Whos game is this. SP or the internet?

It's MUCH better when they ignore feedback totally and just stubbornly decide to do whatever they like despite people screaming at them that it's wrong. Clearly that has been demonstrated time and time again.
*sarcastic sigh*

It was odd going from Jason Statham to Ben Affleck though.

The guy from Red Faction, Star Wars Force Unleased, Infamouse, it's all the same.

But that was part of the point, the guy was a nobody who had a bad thing happen to him. I liked the old character and would prefer they go back to that, but a halfway house is better than nothing. I would still have purchased it either way, but as long as he looks less drake like then i am happy.

The storyline was a little out there I'll grant you, but a "bizarre mess" it was not. If by any standard it could be judged a bizarre mess then we'd need to invent new words to describe the storylines of most games, including Infamous' closest rival, Prototype, which really was a mess.

Some made an intresting point on gaf. The rough and gritty Cole of inFamous 1 reflected the city he was in. From what we've seen of 2 it looks brighter and more colourful, with the new Cole reflecting this.
I liked the idea of him being redisigned each time. That's quite a comic booky thing. Which I believe is what they want.
You never know, the good bad choices in 2 could alter Cole apperance into non-discript, grey and gruff Cole 1 or chipper, cocky, dude-o Cole 2

I dont care what he looks like. The first infamous got so many thngs right and at some points was brilliant, such was just getting from A to B.
It just needed more variety in the missions. Each sub mission needs to be its own thing, not one of a selection of mini games. and the main missions underground felt too similar. It just needs more variety thats all. If it does that then it should be a great game.

Granted, the design of the city and the map was a bit... below average. And some repeating quests were dull ("please, locate and destroy the mechanical bugs on this building"
Especially the power ups and the 'bad' storyline; it was quite shocking. I expected some 'good but just not very good' nonsense but Cole went all out and close friends die (by his hand). Excellent work, and I hope inFamous 2 delivers more or the same (in a better designed city
