Mmmhhh! Quake 2! My teenage-Quake 2-tournament days... I was really good with the railgun. :-D Helped me a lot in other games - e.g. Day of Defeat where the German rifle is basically like a railgun. ^^

Now that's one hell of an interesting side project. The flash/browser games lately got better and better. A very good example for a quality browser game is Bible Fight...really cool SF2 clone which is probably Jack Thompsons favourite game right now;-)

Hopefully, Quake zero results in one kick ass free FPS that can also be moded:-)

Not an impossibility when you consider games like Phosphor.

Did he really say browser-based? IGN.com reports only that it will be a free download and the aim is to make an extremely responsive (read: e-sports...) game that should have rather moderate system requirements. Not a word that it's gonna be browser based. My guess is that it'll be a standard game connected to different web sites (Quake community fansites and ads for financing) which means that reporting it as "browser-based" is a tiny bit misleading...

Is this just Quake with artificial sweeteners?
