The multiplayer beta is actually the coolest thing I've played in a loooong time. It's like Quake 1 on crack cocaine. The speed of Quake 1, bullets kill easier then in Counter-Strike and the guns are just amazing....hooo boooy

It's games like this - and articles like this banging on about it - which are going to cost me a fortune. Finally going to have to upgrade the pc. Can't see this running on a Celeron 900 with geforce 3 card.

The gamesTM preview says there's a particular object that you can carry around which allows you to do the 'bullet time' thing. Only the person who has it can do it, everyone else slows down when he uses it. Kill him and you can nick it.

If that person is in a team, then that team will not slow down either apparently.

Krudster - i know... stuff like half life 2, kotor (1 and 2) and rome total war have been pushing me towards the pc for games again rather than consoles. This looks like causing critical mass!

Last time i upgraded was to put the geforce 3 card in. 150 quid and all i bloody played on the pc was championship manager. Most pointless upgrade. Evah!

Been looking at the dell website - seem to be very reasonably priced. Anyone got experience of their stuff? Any good?

Not a bad option for price/performance. As ever, avoid the low end, focus on the graphics options (say no to onboard graphics!) and generally speaking the more you spend the better in the long run. For 700 odd quid (assuming no monitor/printer/even OS if you can help it) you should be fine.

I love the IGN trailer where you're dropped off by your squad, and they're under fire in the 'copter so they flee shouting 'You're on your own!'

So begins generic pretty FPS title # 657.

Years ago a decent gaming machine seemed to be around a grand. I'm not bothered about top-end stuff so it looks like i should get something for around 500 - 700 which'll do me.

Shame about that offer MacM found - looks like the best buy i've seen by a long way. I'll have another poke about on their site and see what i can find. They seem to have never ending sales.

Cheers for the advice..

And you didn't just post to say 'I didn't miss the gag'? :P

Game looks good in a visceral sort of way, still not sure about their method for mp bullet time though.

'... bullets kill easier then in Counter-Strike...'

Hmm, that doesn't sound like fun. The bullets in Counter-Strike kill pretty damn easily.

btw, why is there a little square following the right side of this page when I scroll it in firefox?

Well.... he could have asked all those things, but then it would've been really bloody boring, wouldn't it?

This is a games site, not a tech site.

Good interview Kristan. I wonder if they will make alien vs predator 3 based on this technology? Should have asked them that :P

Ugh no, they ballsed up # 2 badly. It should be given to an fps team who know how to craft a decent suspenseful yarn free of stodgy scripting and gimmicks-based contrivances.

They should make a game like the Shalebridge Cradle level in T:DS. That shit was scary.
