While I'm not really excited about the game itself, the editor does seem quite nice to fiddle around with. I remember back in the days when I used to make my own Warcraf 2 maps...oh the memories.

"I think that's another thing that's fantastic about the mod community, they really are into exchanging ideas and helping each other out, almost like an open source format."

"But we've already shipped out a lot more servers into the field"

It's a shame that when this wonderful free-love yadda yadda community that Blizzard have created make something of use, like an open source battle.net server, their lawyers pounce on them with the DMCA and make them eat dirt.

"One thing I am hoping for is for the world editor to make another type of the same unit"

Yes, you can do that with the built-in unit editor AFAIK - just take an existing unit, copy it, give it a new name, adjust the stats, change the size / colour...

Skalmanxl the reason he said you are a moron is because you insulted Starcraft.

I said no such thing, all I said what that I wasn't very excited about Warcraft 3, BUT that I really look forward to see what people can do with that editor.

I must admit I wasn't that impressed with the early versions of the multiplayer beta, but the single player campaign looks a lot more interesting thanks to the stronger RPG elements, and the editor looked really neat.

Warcraft 3 is going to be the sweetest Strategy/War game ever created. The editor sounds unbelieveable. And i wonder if they could make a Lord Of The Rings map.....
