>> some of the musics best producers mainly produce rap music, and play real instruements and even score movies such as rza.

But RZA is an exception rather than the rule, no? It amuses me when my little brother offers the fact that some rapper "writes his own lyrics" as if that makes them some kind of musical god... NO! Writing your own songs and/or playing your own instruments are the base line for qualifying as a musician at all!

>> 50cent has cheap taste in cloths and houses? lmao u serious, he has one of the most expensive houses in america. and his cloths cost more than your house.

There's nothing cheaper than feeling a need to tell the whole world how much money you have ;)

I dislike rap, I hate eminem and I would also be against a game were a death metal band members would be allowed to sacrifice people to satan on the altar of a church, hang priests in crosses, rape nuns in the vatican and...

I just think mixing real life with games will influence stupid people and since theres a lot of stupid people in the world I consider it dangerous

Why is everybody slagging off rap music/artists?

Yes I agree there's is a ton of rubbish rap music (like 50c) in the charts where image is far greater than substance - however this is just pop music at the end of the day and most pop music is image and marketing driven! Duh!

There are still plenty of progressive, original and creative hip-hop artists out there doing their ‘shit’, like Mr Lif, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Neptunes, Common, etc, etc.

To say that all rap artists are ‘not real musicians’ is doing our whole musical history a great disservice. Hip hop has been one of the most innovative and creative musical genres of recent years………

I couldn't care about role models or any of the other stuff here - celebs in games is just plain wrong and wanting to 'play' as one should be cause for imprisonment.
Original musics gone, next it will be always having to play as some dumb celeb and gaming monotany will be complete :(

Plus - how could they NOT get the sandbox thing in GTA? Takeway that element and GTA would have died at version 1 imho.

Not me, but what I think eighthours insinuated earlier was; that people who listen to rap music can’t use the correct Queens English.

I thought it was a bit of generalised statement and a bit unfair to people who like hip hop that’s all……...

Not enough to proof-read every post, but I do make the effort to use punctuation correctly in even the shortest reply. Some people seem to believe that spelling & punctuation don't matter at all, then get shitty when people misunderstand - or don't understand - what they're trying to say.

Anyway, back on topic:

This game really does look quite awful, and I'd echo the comments further up the thread about the dubious nature of the concept. Hopefully it will bomb, as that's likely to be the only thing that will convince publishers not to get involved in this kind of title again.

"that people who listen to rap music can’t use the correct Queens English"

It's Ja Rule that's from Queens. Fiddy is from Southside (I think).

Anyway, while 50 cent can be an objectable figure in hip hop, it does not represent its entirety. That is a dumb thing to say - sort of like saying since Freddie Prinze Jr. or Roland Emmerich suck, the art of acting and directing is to be buried and forgotten. It is not.

And, on the other side, consider 50 cent's popularity, and his undeniable charisma and capability of getting people's attention. He creates controversy, strong reactions on everyone. And he is a money making machine, reaching out to grown ups and kids alike, males and females of all races. Now if you do this with other rappers or artists, you don't get the same result. This is fine - there needs to be pop music after all. But it does not need to be garbage. And 50 cent is probably the most influential black man in the world, so many feel he should be conveying more complex ideas through his music and persona and (obviously) his videogames, considering many youngsters will buy them. What we would rather watch is 50 cent talking to people about poverty, aids, education, racism, unemoployment, clash of cultures, rather than recycling the millionaire thug ghetto fantasies again and again.

To end with this, here are some quotes from a investor conference for Reebok, recently bought by Adidas: two companies that, as most sports apparel makers today, start just now to understand that a hip hop artist endorsement make them sell as many or even more shoes than famous sports figures... that's something to think about.

"At Reebok’s annual investor conference, division officials echoed Fireman, saying, ‘’These kids hang on every word” of Jay-Z because ‘’his influence on youth culture is tremendous and what he represented 2.5 years ago he still represents today, but even more so, because he’s evolved.” They said of 50 Cent, ‘’This guy is truly a marketing machine and will have a lot of momentum. We’re going to really capture and provide that momentum and be with 50.” They said, ‘’50 Cent is very large and his influence is incredible and he’s really captured a major movement and people are following him and going with him."

Nope, that's the easy conclusion to draw (the same train of thought, in fact, as the "EG are racist" theory, which is similarly wrong) and it's not correct, as well as being pretty simplistic. It's very easy to overreact to a statement and immediately go OTT on the "racist" angle, as it neatly sidesteps the issue at hand.

I'll try to clarify: It seems that the people on this forum who listen to commercial rap AND are defending this game AND are defending 50 Cent's lifestyle don't seem to be using the Queen's English as well as those with the other viewpoint.

There is a broader argument that education and opportunity should be one of the things that someone with the influence of 50 Cent should be espousing, rather than drugs and guns.

At the end of the day the guy can do what he wants, but he does affect impressionable people's aspirations, attitudes and lifestyles, and should be open to criticism when his actions have a potentially negative impact.

Doesn't require a master of all correct English to work out the difference between the following, but since you're a sarky little bugger I'll just have to put it in black and white (no pun intended), so that you can see for yourself how much of an idiot you're being:

"What I think eighthours insinuated earlier was; that people who listen to rap music can’t use the correct Queens English"

And...

"It seems that the people on this forum who listen to commercial rap AND are defending this game AND are defending 50 Cent's lifestyle don't seem to be using the Queen's English as well as those with the other viewpoint."

As for Qualified:

and I'm probably doing better than alot of you on this forum...

Oh here we go.....

my OWN house, no rent mortgage, 2 cars, and 3 jobs. and i strive for more so i can become rich like the 2 names mentioned above.

THREE jobs? Bloody hell!

By the way, many of us have houses. So what? It doesn't mean our arguments on this issue are necessarily any better. That's in the detail, not in how much money we may happen to earn, and the fact that you want to brag about such things is yet another indication of how screwed up your priorities are.

@Qualified: I hate to inform you this, but you are a GONE CASE. In case you read my post, I like SOME EMINEM SONGS, not Eminem himself. I also mentioned my liking for Outkast and Kanye West. But i think you have a very short memory.

'Toy Soldiers' is BETTER than any crap put out by 50 CEnt. The fact that you think it is a terrible song is a pleasant surprise, that;s the way it should be. Go listen to IN Da Club ad nauseum. You deserve that and nothing more.

And lastly, LIKING EMINEM AND BEING DISGUSTED BY 50CENT - does that make ANYONE a racist? I will hold nothing here: you are a fucking moron for thinking that. You seem to have a one-track mind, like most of your (c)rap idols.

I don't feel anger or furor over you - just pity. You are blindly in love with 50 Cent and you even refuse to acknowledge that Eminem was his mentor.

'racism was brought up because certain people in here are knocking 50cent, but then praising eminem. when eminem is worse, racist songs, addicted to drugs, women beater, abusive to his own mother, and has had guns and used them before." - well what does 50 Cent sing about? Jesus and the saints?

You sad, sorry, deranged soul. Just because I think some Eminem tunes are catchy makes me a racist. Listen, even if being labeled a racist justifies my hate of 50 Cent, so be it. I know that I am not a racist and it is you, idiot, who BROUGHT UP THE SUBJECT ON THIS FORUM.

'Don't talk on something you do not know"
Beside being a complete grammatical nightmare, this sentence is also wrong - it is YOU who don't seem to know anything beyond 50 Cent. And I don't give a flying fuck if there is no east/west coast going on - honestly I don't have time for that.

And then you find the time to brag about YOUR riches. When did wealth ever make a person better? Your frame of mind is DIABOLICAL. You get from worse to horrible every milisecond. I hope other posters are seeing your posts. Listen, fellow, I have only one house and a Company car - I am a street waif compared to your glittering majesty - but I like to think I have some COMMON SENSE AND DECENCY, and guess what: You can't buy that even if you sell your entire fleet.

Never CALL ANYONE A RACIST AGAIN UNLESS YOU HAVE A FRIGGIN IDEA OF WHAT HE IS TRYING TO SAY. I love people of every shade and if anything, I love REAL African-origin people the most for their humility, diligence and politeness.

This is probably my worst post ever on EG but you deserve every word of it, and them some.

PS- Thanks Stickman for , er, STICKING UP for me.

You sound like a fucking broken record. 'You don't like rap'/'50Cent and Eminem are the same'. I am BLOODY SICK OF THIS POINTLESS REPITITION. I DO like rap, and there is a LOT of difference between Eminem and 50 Cent, though I don't like either.

I think you are 50 Cen't's publicist or something. Saint 50 has been 'raping' and 'making records' - as in 'videotaping his rapes', eh? Wow, DOES sound like him! As for which crap label he is on, I don't care - and don't pretend there is no link between Eminem and Dr Dre.

Just read your previous posts and realize that they have been SAME except for new , disgusting lines of thought (I own three cars! 50 Cen'ts house is big, and so is his c**t! I am richer than most of you!!! Not liking 50 Cent is racism) and glorious contradictions. I wish you had the decency to hang your head in shame.

Toy Soldiers is good, and was in the Euro top 10. You don;t like it , fine - I am honestly delighted. For someone who 'doesn't realy like 50 Cent', you are one big lover of him. I have nothing more to say to you, except try not showing up on a 50 Cent forum next time - won't make you look good.

Oh I don't believe I am back in your exalted company. You sound like a FUCKING. BROKEN. RECORD - oops, I told you that already but I guess you need to be told ten times for something to sink in. OK for the tenth time, I HATE 50CENT BECAUSE I HATE HIS SO-CALLED MUSIC, NOT BECAUSE WHO HE IS. SIMILARLY I LIKE SOME OF EMINEM'S SONGS BUT I DO NOT LIKE THE MAN HIMSELF.

Is that so hard for you to understand? Or are you a rapper yourself, perhaps an understudy of 50Cent, trying to emulate the one-track mind of today's rappers? And WHY THE FUCK do you guys like to flaunt your PATHETIC cars, your PATHETIC houses, and your PATHETIC, Two-Cent sluts that you have a dozen of in every video? You did that by boasting about your cars and three cars (no doubt black off roaders with golden wheels, 20 billion lights on top, purple seats), and then you do the same for your SAINTS. Is wealth the main way you justify hip hop?

If anything, you are coming across as the WORST AMBASSADOR POSSIBLE for your favorite form of music and hopefully thousands of readers who don't know what REAL hip hop is, have turned away from the genre in disgust. I wouldn't blame them either. Who has the desire to investigate a genre infested with arrogant men, flaunting their houses/cars/sluts, whose almost every video deserves a XX certification at least, who release porno tapes to go along with their albums, whose videos are filled with gyrating girls because there is no music to speak of?

Your comments show such a low level of IQ that I can't believe I am still talking to you. Makes me look stupid as well. And let me say this: The fact that you are a fan of 50 Cent, coupled with your amazing capacity for lack of understanding, comprehension skills (relating to these comments), repitition and downright arrogance, looks to BE NO CO-INCIDENCE. I believe he was generalising about rappers, the same way you are generalising about the people on this forum.

I don't really want to get caught in the middle of this, I honestly just found it slightly amusing to pull you up on your "you people" comments. Everyone is getting so angry that at this point I think "deliberate misunderstanding mode" has been engaged somewhat on both sides. There has been a fair bit of putting words into each others mouths along the way too, which I think is why things got so heated.

Usually these things go full circle and people start to realise that they have quite a bit in common and are agreeing about most points of discussion. I think we are getting there slowly.

I'm rather too late to contribute to the discussion properly, hence my slight dig at you with my "you people" post. I know your use of the term was clear, but I would suggest that Talha's use is also clear and that you are looking for a more sinister meaning in his words because both of you are in combat mode.

I think you will find that after two steps back, you both agree on the more general issues here. That is how it has read to me anyway.

The fact people haven't told you they have played the game is no guarantee that this isn't the case. That is an assumption on your part. To assume that anyone who has played the game would see informing you of that fact as a requirement for taking part in this discussion is a bit rich.

A small bit of advice, which of course you can take or leave. In one of your early posts you called two different people here stupid. As a general rule, as soon someone starts calling other posters names instead of debating fact, a lot of other posters will stop being interested in what they have to say whether they make valid points or not.

With that in mind, there could be a fair group of people here who have played the game but had no interest in discussing that with you because of the way you began insulting people early into the discussion.

Anyway, I don't mean to have a dig at you. I'm just saying what I see. I'm not saying you are a rapper, just that I thought it was reasonbly clear that was what Talha meant when he said "you people" (whether it was a correct assumption or not).

EDIT: Also, some people such as Talha get upset when people accuse them of being racist. I would share his feelings if someone made the same accusation of me. Depending on how seriously you take something like racism, some people would brush off the accusation whereas others would actually be quite bothered that someone saw fit to accuse them of thinking that way. It may be "sad" or whatever to carry anything that is said here outside the pages and still be bothered by it, but no one is made of stone and I would suggest that Talha is the better person for finding such an insult hard to brush off. And if you give it some thought, I'm sure that you would hope him and others to feel that way.
