John Schappert, the man in charge of Xbox Live, has admitted he's no idea when we'll see the downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto IV.

Last we heard, the DLC - which is exclusive to Xbox 360 - was down to be released "this autumn".

But, well, it's October now. So during a roundtable interview at the Tokyo Game Show, we asked Schappert whether we will indeed see the content this side of Christmas.

"Frankly, I don't know," said the Xbox Live boss. "Rockstar are the people to ask for that."

He went on to add, "I hope as a gamer, just like I'm sure you do as a gamer, the sooner the better. I can't wait for it." Even though, Schappert confirmed, he hasn't had the chance to give it a play as yet.

/\ That's the sound of someone dropping the ball on GTA4's DLC. Most people moved on from this game a long time ago, and by now I'm not sure how many people are excited about going back to it.

If they take too long in getting this out it could seriously damage them considering how much they apparently spent for it. Wait to long and people become disinterested in the game and don't buy it.

For rockstar's sake it had better be soon before people forget about this game completely, the single-player game was far too easy so most finished it months ago, and with all the great games in the next few months i know i want by thinking of extra bits for a game i played ages ago.

Anyway, Saints Row 2 > GTA 4 DLC

I guess they are not bothered now that the sales have already been made on the promise of DLC. I bought the PS3 version and was quite jealous of the exclusive DLC but the game's effect has now work off

If its good enough of course people will be interested long after the game was released. It might even feel like GTAV imo.
I think its a good thing that it takes time to release it. It will feel like a fresher experience i guess.

IDK where the idea that "no one plays GTA 4 anymore" comes from. It's still in the top 10 most played 360 titles. I guess we tend to measure the whole world by our tastes/actions.

edit: by the tone of his answer, he seems a bit pissed with Rockstar. I don't how MS can rush it or have anything to do with its development.

I know I know!! I've been quite busy this month, I'm trying though.

But I do a few missions and move on to something else! I've got such a backlog of games and not enough time!!

Sad thing is there is shitloads coming over the next few months as well!

/ plans to dedicate this weekend to much needed catch up on gaming (if girlfriend allows!)

i'm still playing it, at 63% now. but i must say... the levels are becoming more of the same :s ... so it's hard to stay motivated
hope the dlc bring something new, like NEW not drive, shoot, escape queue video cutscene.. next..

As I don't see anything to buy on xbla for me but still got a good amount of points, you better bring that fast! I'm about to finish the game over the weekend and will sell it afterwards... Would buy the DLC though.
