@Widge: I belive there will be a Buzz area in Home but I don't think it will be used for anything than marketing... no Buzz quizzes in Home.

You might be thinking of 1 vs 100, the new daily multiplayer quiz being added to the new 360 dashboard.

I quite like the Home beta (now a full HD format has resolved my crashing issues!!!) but being a beta it's seriously limited with the amount of stuff you have access to and the places you can go. It's very slick though and as a freebie it's well worth checking out IMO even if you might not end up using it all that much. I'm definitely looking forward to trying out the full version, hopefully with more customisation options, clothes and furniture plus more places to visit (i.e. the habour from your apartment balcony looks amazing so I'd love to be able to walk around there).

slightly off topic but that buzz area should be implemented like "Runaround" shame Mike Read is dead as he could of done the voice over....

I've had some great games of draughts and pool on the beta.

Agree - I don't get all the hate for this and at the same time exitement about 360 avatars.

I think it's cool concept with great potential if done right and supported with new areas, content and features. I'm just very tired of reading and talking about it ... I want Sony to get release it so we all can try it out.

If there's any excitement it's for Xbox Primetime, which could be one of the coolest things ever. As for HOME, I reckon they're still holding back on some stuff. I mean, it's been delayed for 12 months, they must have been doing something cool for all that time, and I can't wait to find out what it is.

@woodnotes : Primetime is the casual games which will use avatars, right?

Just curious because we haven't really seen anything from it... just that MS are ripping off Buzz and putting Mii "inspired" avatars into it.

Because quiz games are original.

I'm curious about Home (more for the customisable apartment than anything, really) and I don't care about the upcoming 360 avatars, but the rest of the update looks good. So ner.

HDD install option for all games and 1080p dashboard support is great, but the new 360 GUI looks terrible... just terrible.

I thought it looked alright, the old style looks like its aiming towards the Alienware demographic as far as looks go... and thats just horrific.

The promising thing about home, is that the website bods who have been getting hands on time with it have all come back with good things to say about it.

As with anything like this, I don't reckon it'll be a smooth launch. Hiccups, issues, patches.... all to come no doubt, but over time, great dev potential.

I don't think rumors based on some random post in some forum deserve news treatment, but ok...

I'll believe it when they release it (not when they announce it, of course).

Home will be a nice novelty for five minutes. I expect it to be a bit like XMB in-game, all hype and excitement until you actually have it.

Bloody Sony. How dare they finally release something that might be really good and that we might want to use lots. Bastards.

It doesn't offer anywhere near as much functionality as some people thought it would. Messaging should've been there at the start, and pretty much everything else wants to quit to the dash. Which is highly rubbish.

I'll give Home a try. Why not? It's free.

about time im fed up of all this big up home shit. itll come out and itll be crap most likely, probably have to wait another year anyway lol. and what the hells this on about buzz i hate that asshole of a host i want to punch him!!!!!!!!!!

I believe it would do ok after novelty wears off, but the real test is how it would perform in everyday PS3 users, I mean against the simplicty of XMB? To me its no contest, but then again there are lots of Sim, MMO, facebooks users who loves to socialise and immerse themselves into the 'world'. Though if that is the case what wrong with the real deal?!

I only say this cos I am pretty much luddite and outdated when it comes to MMO and Social Network! I can see myself popping into Home on odd occasions and perhaps would be pleasantly suprised at how useful it going to be, I would be open to that.

Again lots of people making negative comments and non constructive criticism based on no knowledge or actual experience of Home.

1. Wait till its released and experience it for yourself then you'll be able to write a valid opinion based on your own evaluations.
2.It's free.
3.Again, it's free...you don't have to use it.
4.From what i've seen and read about it, it certainly is unique in the console market, a big step up from anything Nintendo or Microsoft have produced.
5. It will be an ongoing Beta gaining various update improvements over the years ahead.
6. Did i mention it was free service?

P.S. I've always felt it would be released with or around the time LBP is. It's certainly starting to look that way, though i wouldn't mind getting a nice little email with an invite to the current beta, hey sony? ;)

hate to be a party pooper but according to the home devs (who pop in regularly to home these days to chat with the beta testers) home wont be out with 2.5 or LBP :( but the release date has been set now for some time (months from what i can gather so prob back in june/july) and sony will announce it soon... when's their next big speech due?

over the last few days myself and a few other beta testers were givin the chance to quiz one of the devs and all i can say is there are some amazing things coming to home when it hits 1.0, forget the videos you've seen of 0.98 that's just the foundations that home is now being built on there is so much more to come ;) i cant go into details or i'll be kicked from beta (NDA and all that) but home will be worth waiting for!
