And it's not a reboot either. Hrm.

Not a reboot, a remake? Doubt it. They can do what they like though, if I don't like it I'll just go back to good old Doom :)

As long as it is more like the first two Doom games I'm happy. Doom 3 was too different for me, I enjoyed the classic ones a lot more.

Well, if it's not a reboot or a sequel to Doom 3, does that mean we can assume it's an FPS that harkens back to the olden days of Doom 1 and 2-style?

Why am I thinking third person GoW/Doom hybrid? Actually that would be pretty cool.

Give monster gameplay. I want to play as a cacodemon and eat marine children.

i'll get as excited for this as a was for 3, even though the gameplay wasnt all that.
Something about new ID tech that makes it more exciting than anyone else.

It's obviously going to be something in the vein of Doom II's "Hell on Earth".

Which would be rather brilliant, actually.

Yea, if they can recapture Doom II's atmosphere in every way and bring it up to date I don't care what you call it. 4 player coop, lots of monsters and every boss has to die with bullets (no matter how many it takes) - that's what they should be aiming for. I can't believe they dropped the ball in Doom 3 on the boss part and coop as well.

I think they'd have to go back to the days of old, because the new one was pretty boring.. tech demos of the world unite!

Marines don't have children, they pop out of the earth fully grown, like (Tolkien's) orcs!

I'm betting it's more arcade-y than D3, more like the first 2s "for the love of God, don't pick up the shotgun ammo floating in the middle of the otherwise featureless (but quite large) room!" than survival horror-ish.

Either that or a regenerating health, third-person, cover-system style GoW knock-off.

I loved Doom 3, can't wait to see demons running riot on a futuristic earth.
