The founders of IO Interactive have established a new development studio called Reto-Moto.

IO is best known for creating the Hitman series and Kane & Lynch. The new studio will be based in Denmark and will target the online multiplayer market.

"We've seen the interactive online market develop significantly in the last five years," commented David Guldbrandsen, chief technology officer of Reto-Moto.

"Fresh from the global success of Hitman we think our new company Reto-Moto is well placed to capture commercial and creative advantage."

It's not that it makes more sense to make online multiplayer games, it's simply that since WOW it's easier to get cash to do them.

I still occasionally re-install freedom fighters and wonder why there has never been another squad based game that comes close to it. It's not like the game is new or anything. It also begged for a chapter two which never came for some strange reason.

Mmm. From Moby Games it looks like one of them was an engine programmer and one was the Eidos exec producer. Not exactly 'the founders of IO'. Talk about a bullshit press release.

The founders are all listed on the http://www.retomoto.com site if you are that interested Ughost. One mobygames search hardly qualifies you to dismiss the release as bullshit...
