Hell's Highway experiences tailback

New BIA now coming in September.

Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford has said Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway will not appear until September.

The wartime shooter had previously been penned in for August, but Pitchford told Shacknews we may have to wait an extra couple of weeks to get our hands on the game.

This adds some clarification to the late September date HMV hinted at last week, after unveiling a rather bizarre pre-order campaign.

Unfortunately we're still waiting for an explanation from Ubisoft.

Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway is coming to PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.

Head over to our recent hands-on impressions of Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway to find out more.

Is everyone expecting this to bomb, or just me?

I thought the first two Xbox BIAs were great, but this one... I don't know. Please surprise me, Gearbox.

Well looking at the thousands of comments above me I can say we're all psyched for this game!

My brother is going bonkers waiting for this. He loved the previous ones.

Lost interest in this game a long time ago but I did enjoy the first game many, many moons ago on the Xbox. The WWII setting doesn't exactly excite me (same for Call of Duty: World at War too) but, who knows, if it's an exceptionally good game then I *might* consider it. I'd definitely have to play a demo first though.

I was looking forward to the game but all the delays mean it will hit release with a lot of other stuff i want so i may have to give it a miss.

I think graphically it looks fantastic, certainly the best looking 'real world' shooter I've seen.

I've just lost interest in it though to be honest. I was really looking forward to this about a year and a half ago but it seems to have been around for so long. There's a reason games companies show games later and later now. People are tired of hearing about a game not due to come out for 3 years, they get over saturated with media from the game and just can't be bothered with it after a time.

The story on the official Gearbox forums is they wanted to bring some of the graphical effects up-to-date and improve the multiplayer mode. I can see the multiplayer being a bit of a tack-on, especially since they removed the excellent Skirmish mode from the second game, though it's not an issue for me if the solo game is up to scratch.

I agree with what others have said about the long development cycles wearing people out. It doesn't help that, from screens or even most videos of people playing it (incorrectly), it's not obviously apparent how this differs from say Call of Duty. It plays like nothing else out there at the moment but people are apt to write it off as just another WWII FPS.
