Hellgate "not going away" - Namco
Flagship game may yet be saved.
Namco Bandai has promised players of Hellgate: London that the game is "not going away" in a post on the game's forum.
Zack Karlsson, a business development director for publisher Namco Bandai, said that the semi-MMORPG would continue to run for now.
"I know everyone is looking for an announcement, and we'd love to make one - but right now, many things are in flux and we don't have all the information yet," Karlsson wrote.
"In the short term, please do not worry. The game is up, the servers are not going away in the short term and any major changes to status will be communicated in advance.
"I'd like to ask for your patience as we try to figure it all out and chart a new course... We hope to have a real announcement shortly."
A question mark has been hanging over Hellgate's future since developer and operator Flagship studio was forced to shut down operations. In-development sister title Mythos has already disappeared.
Namco Bandai was Flagship's original publisher for Hellgate: London, although it later outsourced marketing and distribution to EA in America and Europe, and HanbitSoft in Korea.
