Heavy Rain delayed until 2010?
Sony says it hasn't confirmed a date.
An exclusive video preview of Sony and Quantic Dream's interactive drama Heavy Rain on the Gametrailers TV show suggests that the game won't be out until next year.
Presenter Geoff Keighley said at the end of the show (over 19 minutes in) that the game "is going to be coming out next year exclusively for the PlayStation 3". He was interviewing the game's US managing producer at the time.
Sony had previously indicated that the game was due for release in 2009. When the game was unveiled at last year's Leipzig Games Convention, then Sony Europe president David Reeves said it would be "the great game for PlayStation 3 next year".
When contacted for comment, Sony said that it had not yet confirmed a release date for Heavy Rain.
Elsewhere in the Gametrailers TV show, footage can be seen of a new scene in Heavy Rain, quite different to the FBI investigation scene we previewed and saw video of last week.
The scene shows reporter Madison Paige, familiar from the Leipzig "Taxidermist" demo, walking through a crowd of dancers in a nightclub called Blue Lagoon. She dances on a podium, and there's one shot that appears to show her dancing in her underwear for a man sitting in shadows.
Apparently the scene will be on show at E3 next week. We'll bring you more from the show floor.

better delayed than buggy as hell

On saying that though, the PS3 is looking looking more and more like a purchase in 2010.

Seriously though. I'd be suprised if this ever saw the light of day in it's current form.

We've seen more FF13 than Heavy Rain...

If the games end up being great, then I say delay away!
e.g. KZ2 was a long, long, long time coming, but was well worth the wait.
With Uncharted 2 hitting this year ( a game that should offer a lengthy single player and strong multilayer experience along with (possibly) MAG and God of War 3, I don't think it would be to big an issue if Heavy Rain is delayed.

Also, I would like to point out that most gamers normally don't think in fiscal years. That's for the financial guys, not the gamers. So when execs, PR guys and developers talk about "next year" or "this year" and then later on bring up the excuse of "we meant the fiscal years of course" shows us that these guys have no idea how gamers think. This goes for all 'sides'.

I disagree that there are no good PSP games. Personal preference perhaps.

Delaystation 3! PS3 still has no games! PSP has no games atall!
Killzone 2 is average!
etc etc.

Come on guys - waited two years for great PSP games? Not that I'm inferring that the PSP has been swaped in great releases back-to-back over the last few years, but some good stuff's come out since 2007:
for example: Loco roco 2, resistance retribution, patapon (1&2), star ocean remakes, god of war, Crisis core, Jeanne D'arc, Disgaea, Syphon Filter: Logans shadow, Silent Hill: Origins, Renegade squadron, Sega Rally, Midnight Club: LA remix
That said, 2008 was absolutely sh*te for Sonys handheld.

IMHO..Sony Edge MS in exclusives last year and is currently leading this year.. so delaystation or not, its better than vapourware
Now MS are holding out for E3 by all accounts, so it will be interesting to see what and how much, but if its a limited number of games and then all "Lets beat the Wii" crap titles, then it wont be good. No offence but a posh webcam and some improvements to the Avatars doesnt make me excited. But I suspect they have been quiet for quite a time so they must have some major games which they havent mentioned.
Sony at the moment seem to have a good number of games for this year, and a couple so far for next, so I wonder if they are about to run out of steam towards end of next year (alittle like MS has so far this year)... or have they got some hidden games. All interesting times, cant wait for E3.

have you played Sega Rally and loco roco 2 on Psp, they are terrible really terrible. Midnight Club LA and Resistance Retributiion is what I am playing at the moment and they probably are the best I have ever played. The reason why Microsoft sell millions of games is they build momentum, overhype their games and release them while people are still interested, Sony build momentum and hype then delay by a couple of years when people are no longer interested, bang they release. Gears of war 2 alone sold almost as much as 3 of PS3's big exclusives i.e. Reistance 2, LBP and Killzone 2 put together. We can ague all day about this and that but the sales figures are not looking good for Sony and delaying exclusives is not helping their cause.

Yeah the 360 posters on Eurogamer have done a good job at glossing over the whole 360 line up for 2009 by posting tripe about anything to do with Sony. I suppose they could get on with playing games but most of them are probably waiting for their refurbished console to be delivered from MS.

That is the excuse now?...hahaha

Is supposedly 'actual gameplay footage'. Then it becomes this crap:

Now, how am I supposed to expect this NOT to happen to God of War III as well, once they shoehorn it into the available RAM?

Alan Wake.

From videos it already shows that you can move your character around like a normal game, investigate and look at things, but when the heat of the action gets going then its controller buttons. Video 1 is no different from video 2, as you can see the same concept.

The first bit of footage was from an actual playable build, I'm pretty sure theres an article describing how it played on this site.
Seriously, you can't expect every bit of the game to have an identical level of detail irrespective of scope! Polygon budgets and all that.

What about it? Sucks that's been delayed and delayed too. I'm not going to paint a rosy picture of something that is clearly dandelions and other assorted weeds.

26-May-09 10:06:48 This is all part of Sony's 10 year plan for the PS3, delay all the games. "
lmao dude XD. nuf said ^^( its actually sad but true.. they wwill end up sying they made a point by it when the console was worthless of its money for quiet a while now.. oO )
"Quint2020
26-May-09 10:45:49 How can you delay something that never had a date to begin with? "
Read again the article Quin... When was announced FIRST time was last year for THIS year. so if THIS year goes up to NEXT year then its a delay. Period. simple fact
One more time :" This is all part of Sony's 10 year plan for the PS3, delay all the games. "
lolololol ( sorry but its funny as hell ^^ the game itself looks tempting so far tho. guess another year or so to figure out more about it )
EDIT: Indeed.. wtf ever happened to Alan Wake oO ffs I remember in the main trailer was giving a specific year as release. Dont remember which year was on it though :S
