Heavy Rain Chronicles DLC on hold

Quantic urged to get a Move on.

Work has been suspended on the Heavy Rain Chronicles downloadable add-ons.

That's according to Game Informer, which reports that Sony has urged developer Quantic Dream to focus on implementing Move support instead.

Sony announced Move support for Heavy Rain at E3 last week. A video demonstrating how the game easily migrates to motion-sensing control is below.

An updated version of Heavy Rain will be sold at retail later this year. A Move patch will be offered to existing owners for free.

The only released Heavy Rain Chronicle has been the Taxidermist, which we delved into back in March.

Something tells me we've seen the last of DLC for this game... A shame :(

Great tagline. Didn't even have to read the article itself:)

Wonder if you'll see two price points. One for the already released Heavy Rain, and one for the "Move updated" original. And if people would pay extra when all they'd need is to get the regular one, and then the patch.

Well, plenty of suckers out there.

Pity. Was looking forward to the next installment.

Oh well! Will just have to look forward to replaying the main game with Move support later this year :o/

Good, I planned to wait getting Heavy Rain just for Move support, and it's coming day one! Happy me.

Also, if any game is suitable for raplaying the game with a different controller ... :)

Am I the only one who'd rather they just carry on with DLC? I can't get enough of this game and will buy new content at the drop of hat. Anything that takes me back to that world.

Was gonna replay this game (1st playthru was one of the best game experiences iv had this gen). Now Ill just wait for the move support to be patched in. Its cool that sony is patching this and resident evil as opposed to releasing move-only additions.

That's okay, as this will give QD more time to focus on Horizon, so it's not all bad.

The idea of the game with move support reeks to me. Sorry.

Imagine you're a dev working away on a piece of dlc for an exciting game you made when in strolls mister Sony and makes you shoehorn something else in first.

    Mmmmmmm.

And so it starts. Development time being wasted on waggle. We'll probably never see any more DLC for this game now.

"Hi Quantic Dream, can you stop work on anything remotely creative please? We want you to add TEH MOAR WAGGLEZ to your existing game so we can try and continue Nintendo's work to destroy gaming. K thx bai"

They lost all their momentum for Heavy Rain...
  • menage #14 2 years ago

I think the number of move users will be far smaller than the ones buying the normal DLC, but they just need the validation of their devicel I guess.

I just wish Sony would wise up and just drop the whole thing. It's a moneypit which isn't going to set sales on fire imo. Focus on 4D even or something.

Nah. Move will sell like hotcakes. Look at the Wii.

That's the purpose of this whole venture from Sony's point of view.

Shame, I was looking forward to the DLC!

A bit annoyed they gave up on the other DLC... But in the end I think i would only buy Move if Sorcery turn out to be good.
