Heavenly Sword demo soon

Burning bush told us.

Mat Hart, head of production at Ninja Theory, reckons we could be seeing a Heavenly Sword demo any day now.

"I can confirm that we are, of course, going to be releasing a demo for Heavenly Sword - and soon! This will be downloadable via the Playstation Network, so keep an eye out for it in the very near future - and I mean very near future!" Hart spilled on the developer's IGN blog.

Of course, next week sees the new-look E3 take place in Santa Monica, where each of the platform holders will be giving the usual annual conference spiel. The Heavenly Sword demo could coincide with this, what with being a key exclusive title for Sony and all that, but who knows?

Mat Hart also went on to confirm that the game will be presented in 720p and unfortunately not ship with a fancy collector's edition.

We recently had the chance to talk to Ninja Theory co-founder Tameem Antoniades about what could be a console-selling title for the PS3. Pop over to our Heavenly Sword interview to find out what he had to say.

Heavenly Sword is due for release exclusively on PlayStation 3 this September.

    Theres Heavenly Sword, FF13, MGS4... er... Lair... erm... ummm... Super Stardust?

    Im sure there will be something thats not also on 360 some months earlier. Eventually.

    In the mean time, my 360 is busy with Crackdown (its still fun), DiRT, Forza, R6 Vegas and Overlord, while my PS3 and Wii sit there looking lonely.

    Yup, my 360 loves me long time whilst the PS3 looks a bit lost on the adjacent shelf. Really looking forward to Heavenly God of War Sword and hope the demo gives Ps3 owners something to cheer about at last.

    Anyone seen about Forza 2 killing some 360s btw?

    Someone didn't get into the beta :) Clutching at straws indeed.

    Also, disc, you missed a few titles. LittleBigPlanet will debut on the network this year, supposedly in October/November. GT5 Prologue is out in November. Wipeout HD is rumoured for November. Also, there's a couple of JRPG and Anime games that were announced in the last Famitsu for September. Also EyeCreate (the Playstation Eye software) is due out this month I think.

    Because I'm trying to fathom how someone can get excited about Halo, and then call Socom and Warhawk crap, it's like me saying I love Devil May Cry, Heavenly Sword, and God of War but then think Ninja Gaiden 2 is going to be a piece of turd.

    Lair has been announced as a dual release PS3 and Vic20. Just make sure you have the extra ram pack for the ol' vic or it won't work, otherwise it's identical to PS3 version but with better audio

    Ahhh, I'm soo glad I no longer resort to arguing, and taking the piss out of PS3 owners on here. I feel so much better for it :)
    Although Disc's massive list of PS3 exclusive hardhitters only actually contained about four genuinely promising ones :/ To be fair, a lot of those look like shite (to me anyway).
    But Heavenly Sword does look rather sweet, if not terribly original.
    And the chances of Europeans getting MGS4, in our language, before Chrimbo, are slim to none aren't they?

    Ofcourse XBX3xx and PC is not exclusive, only deluded microsoft fanboys can think such a thing.

    Picking on Sony about the exclusive stuff is something they always will do, you know... one should ask how come they even post in PS3 topics when theyre so huge fans of the xbox series..

    As to HAZE , its an exclusive on PS3 till its out on xbox360 (if ever) , anything can happen right now and Sony have decided not to bribe developers to do exclusive stuff unlike where Microsoft is dooing it all the time and still fail to somewhat impress at it.

    I have no issues with the xbox series but i somewhat try to ignore it due to the bunch of kiddies that is trying to be so cool when posting in PS3/wii threads etc.


    anyway, looking forward to the demo of Heavenly sword, certainly looks like one of the keepers, but i guess the demo will make it certain if i should buy or not.

    You forgot one word....it's about "CONSOLE" exclusive since most everyone cannot afford a PC that can play DIRT etc with the same quality as the lower priced 360.

    you Sonysuckers will say anything MS negative even if it's not relevant.

    BTW, Haze IS coming to the 360....it's not "if ever"

    Bioshock wos developed by the same guys who developed the classic si-fi/horror rpg/fps/adventure 'System Shock'. To call this a just another fps is simply awfully wrong!...It has been one of the most exciting games at the last E3 show, voted by game journlist...It has a unique story with a proper use of rpg, rather then just be a gimmik. A game with real depth on decision making that put many games in this class to shame...It has atmosphere, adventure and quality atmosphere. One of the most exciting games to be released this 2007 - NOT JUST A FPS.

    Heavenly Sword does look sweet, but with DMC (360/PS3) & Ninja Gaiden, it will be sort of seen as another hack-slash game (though a very good one)...Not a system seller or full of original game mechanics (though not at the moment), but probably the 2nd (after MGS4) game to look forward to PS3. The more interesting games to me seem to be on the 360. PS3 seems to have slowed down since the last only good game was Motor Storm (VF 5 is now coming to 360). The PS3 is going to have to compete with some major titles on 360.
