Halo: Reach doesn't use Project Natal
But you can pilot the Falcon.
Bungie has said once and for all that Halo: Reach doesn't use Project Natal.
"Halo: Reach is NOT a Natal title and is being developed expressly with the traditional Xbox 360 controller in mind," the developer wrote on its website following the publication of screenshots and information late last month.
The studio also addressed various other rumours that sprang up around the coverage. For instance, you will be able to pilot the Falcon in both campaign and multiplayer.
Many other wacky internet rumours, however, turned out to be wacky internet rumours. We're so wacky here on this internet.
Halo: Reach is due out this autumn for Xbox 360, and will be preceded by a beta of some sort for people who bought Halo 3: ODST.

However, I read it as "Natal will certainly not be the primary control input, but we won't necessarily exclude it".

If you were hoping it would implement head tracking or similar add-on controls it can certainly be read that way can't it? It's not going to be a primary controller for it, but I don't think being Natal "enabled" in some way has been ruled out completely from the game. A little optimistic yes, but I'm looking forward to that sort of implementation of Natal tech much more so than Natal only controlled games.

Headtracking is EXACTLY what I'm hoping for.

Head tracking would be nice and there's no reason to assume that it would take an excessive amount of CPU power to do.

Any game that isn't desgined from the ground up to work with Natal shouldn't be using Natal. I couldn't believe all that internet fuss of 'waaahhh Natal won't work with my current games'. Why on earth would you want it to?
