Halo 3 Reader Review

Reader Review by kelly's_h

I've finished the fight! I can't see that anybody who likes shooters can't enjoy Halo 3. It reminded me of the best bits of all my old favorites like doom, duke 3d and contra. I would describe the gameplay as extremely fun "old school" adjusted for gaming inflation. It's the type of game you not only remember first thing in the morning when you wake up, but immediately want to play. Feeling this way about a game is very rare for me these days.

My jaw dropped more than few times. Everything happens in game while you are playing. Things that would normally happen in a cut scene or "off screen" and what happens on screen is nothing other than epic. It's in these huge scenes where the visuals are truly amazing . It's got that God of War, the engine can do anything and then some attitude and the sound in the game definitely lends even more scope to it.

The last few levels could have used some more polish, but the satisfaction or rather relief of finishing them sort of make up for it. Because, honestly those levels are frustration and even rage causers for couple of reasons. I wish I could shoot a Bungie man in the face!

I would recommend playing it on Heroic the first time and then going over to the easier difficulties and take it all in the second time trough. I have been walking around the house pretending to hold a machine gun and making gun noises the whole day... makes me feel like a child again.

the fact that you quote "Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles" on your list of games that blew you away is enough to discredit this review ;-)

Nah, only pulling your leg. Your a bit to "fanboy" there, Lets settle down chaps, its not "that" good. There is nothing new here. Dont get me wrong, i enjoy playing it, and i like the multiplayer, but its not exactly revolutionary game of the decade is it?
