Halo 3 Mythic 2 Map Pack released

No longer exclusive to ODST.

Halo 3: ODST's Mythic 2 Map Pack will be available to all Halo 3 owners from Xbox Live on 2nd February.

You'll need to hand over 800 MSP (£6.80/€9.60) for the three new levels.

Those levels are Heretic, Citadel and Longshore, and they were previously exclusive to Halo 3: ODST - hence the, er, excitement.

Heretic involves an arena Midship that Halo 2 fans should be familiar with; Citadel's a long abandoned stronghold with bases at either end; and Longshore's a dockside map for large-scale battles.

For some reason I never thought it was exclusive. Oh well.

I would bloody buy this if I hadn't have bought ODST as well. You bastards!

I bought mythic pack 1, proceeded to use the maps about once each, then bought ODST and used them more. I'm a fool.

Had to happen eventually. In a way, I prefer this to the Mythic disc because I can easily jump between the Halo 3 campaign, which I love, to the complete MP experience without having to leave the couch. So in effect, I'm paying M$ 800 points to allow myself to sit on my arse.

800 points for maps that most Halo fans have already (like myself in buying ODST)? Would it not be best to give them out free to increase the number of users with access to the same levels and thus increase the halo player base (or get them back from MW2)? Even 200, 400 max of a points price point would seem more appropriate.

Well I guess as the maps are already created, any sales are bonus revenue. If it doesn't sell well then there's no investment to lose.

personally i think its disgraceful on MS part tht the halo maps released befoe mythic map pack are not available for free (minus one). think about it, close to 10 million gamers bought halo 3, its the most played game on live and theyh STILL expect u to pay money for them?? cmon man seriously! i bet the whole halo reach project was funded by all the halo 3 map pack sales!!
